Nuaire Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) is the UK’s most popular method of low-energy whole home ventilation. There are two ranges of Positive Input Ventilation, Nuaire Drimaster-Eco and Nuaire Flatmaster, the first being designed for properties with a loft space and the latter intended for homes without, such as flats and apartments.
Without adequate ventilation, the moisture produced by washing, cooking and bathing remains trapped inside. Modern lifestyles, energy-efficiency measures such as wall and loft insulation, and the rise in energy prices all contribute to the problem. Added to this indoor pollutants such as burning fuel, using cleaning and beauty products create an environment that can be harmful to our health, The Nuaire Drimaster-Eco range of positive input ventilation provides a long-term solution that is easy to install in existing homes and uses very little energy.
Nuaire Positive Input Ventilation is a popular method of ventilating new build homes. This ventilation strategy is supported by a BBA Certificate and recognised as an alternative method within building regulations. The Nuaire Drimaster-Eco range is an extremely cost-effective ventilation solution that offers unique benefits when installing and commission the units. PIV is also recognised as a method of reducing harmful levels of radon gas levels in affected areas.
It is estimated that one in five UK households are poorly ventilated, leading to problems with streaming windows, mould growth and poor indoor air quality. Many older homes are inadequately ventilated and factors such as occupant lifestyles, steps towards energy-efficiency measures like wall and loft insulation, and a rise in fuel poverty all contribute to condensation dampness and its associated problems.
As new, ever more airtight houses are now being built with better construction methods and materials, the performance of the chosen ventilation method must be right, otherwise condensation dampness and poor indoor air quality will inevitably appear.
The Nuaire Drimaster-Eco and Nuaire Flatmaster positive input ventilation systems provide whole home ventilation based on the popular Positive Input Ventilation principle. Essentially, the concept is to gently introduce fresh, filtered air into the dwelling ensuring that old, contaminated moisture-laden air is continuously diluted, displaced and replaced with good quality air.
The result is improved air quality and a healthy living environment in which condensation cannot exist. Both PIV ranges are quick, cost-effective and easy to install, making them an ideal solution for both new build and retrofit applications.
