Instant Grab For Faster Fixing And Cleaner Finish Work

Soudal Fix ALL High Tack is a high performance, one component adhesive sealant based on advanced SMX hybrid polymer technology, formulated to deliver instant grab, flexible movement accommodation and a robust final bond. As a neutral cure product, it is designed for broad compatibility with many common construction materials while maintaining a low odour and a cleaner, more user friendly experience than many traditional solvent based options. This balance makes it well suited to day to day site work where dependable placement and a tidy finish are both expected. The formulation is intended to perform as a true adhesive sealant, combining strong bonding capability with elastic sealing performance in a single product for varied building and maintenance tasks.

High Initial Tack That Holds Materials In Place

The key advantage of Soudal Fix ALL High Tack is its very high initial tack, which helps materials stay where they are placed as soon as they are pressed into position. This makes it particularly effective for bonding panels, trims, profiles and general fixtures where immediate handling strength improves accuracy and reduces delays. As the product cures, it develops high shear strength while remaining permanently elastic, which is essential for joints and bonds exposed to vibration, thermal movement and everyday building dynamics. This combination supports long term durability in both bonding and sealing roles, especially in locations where small movements could otherwise lead to cracking, debonding or edge failure and an untidy finished appearance.

Reliable Performance Indoors And Outdoors In Real Conditions

Fix ALL High Tack is engineered for real world site conditions and can be applied internally and externally, including in all weather conditions. It adheres well to many slightly moist substrates, which is valuable on refurbishment and repair work where waiting for perfect dryness is not always realistic. The formulation includes XS1 fungicide for strong resistance to mould growth, making it particularly useful in humid rooms and detailing points where condensation can occur. After curing, it is paintable with water based systems, helping it integrate neatly into finished decorative surfaces where a clean, colour matched line is required. This makes it a practical choice where both performance and presentation matter.

Product Performance

Fix ALL High Tack is built around a performance profile that tradespeople and installers notice immediately, instant grab, reliable handling, and a bond line that stays flexible instead of turning brittle. The very high initial tack helps hold components in place straight away, which can reduce time spent propping, pinning, or adjusting parts during installation. This is supported by the product’s high final bond strength of up to 320kg/10cm², giving confidence for long term holding power once curing is complete, especially on common building substrates where conventional adhesives may struggle with movement or vibration.

The technical characteristics help explain why it performs so well across mixed site conditions. Skin formation of around 5 minutes supports fast tooling and quick progression to the next task, while a curing speed of approximately 3mm per 24 hours provides a practical balance between early stability and full cure performance. A maximum allowed joint movement of ±20% and strong elastic recovery of >75% mean the cured seal remains resilient under cyclic movement, reducing stress concentration at the edges of the bond or joint.

With a hardness of around 65±5 Shore A and an elasticity modulus of approximately 2.30N/mm², Fix ALL High Tack delivers a firm, supportive feel once cured, while still maintaining the flexibility needed to cope with real world building movement. Add good UV and weather resistance, plus a service temperature range of -40°C to +90°C, and it becomes a dependable choice for both interior and exterior bonding and sealing where durability, speed, and professional finish all matter.

Health & Safety Recommendations

When using Fix ALL High Tack, follow normal site hygiene and safe working practices at all times. Read the packaging label and safety data sheet before use, and keep the work area well ventilated during application and throughout curing. Wear suitable gloves and eye protection, particularly when working overhead or when applying to awkward joints where accidental contact is more likely.

If working indoors, maintain airflow with open windows or mechanical extraction where possible. Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking during use, and wash hands thoroughly after handling. If sealant comes into contact with skin, wipe away promptly and wash with soap and water. Keep cartridges out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry place.

Substrate Suitability

Fix ALL High Tack is a high tack adhesive sealant designed for strong bonding and sealing on a wide range of common building materials, including many porous and non porous surfaces. It typically adheres well to usual building substrates such as brick, concrete, masonry, lacquered or coated timber, many metals, many plastics, and PVC, making it suitable for general construction, renovation, and maintenance work.

It is not suitable for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, copper, or copper containing materials such as bronze and brass, as adhesion may be unreliable. Substrates and coatings vary widely, particularly plastics and factory finishes, so a small adhesion and compatibility test is strongly recommended before full application, especially on critical joints or high load bonds.

Surface Preparation

Good preparation is essential for maximum grab and long term durability, particularly when Fix ALL High Tack is used as a grab adhesive or for external sealing. Surfaces must be rigid, structurally sound, and free from dust, grease, oils, laitance, loose coatings, and any contamination that could prevent bonding.

The substrate can be dry or slightly moist, but standing water, running water, heavy condensation, or water trapped within the joint should be avoided. Non porous surfaces should be cleaned and degreased with Soudal Cleaner & Degreaser, then allowed to flash off fully before application.

Porous surfaces in water loaded applications should be primed with Soudal Primer 150 to reduce absorption and support consistent adhesion. Plastics often carry release agents, processing aids, or protective films from manufacture, these must be removed completely before bonding or sealing. For optimum adhesion on difficult non porous substrates, Soudal Surface Activator can be used where appropriate, following the relevant product guidance.

Application Method

Fix ALL High Tack is supplied ready to use and is applied with a suitable caulking gun. Cut the nozzle to suit the required bead size, then apply steady pressure for a continuous, uniform bead.

For sealing work, apply into the joint evenly and avoid trapping air pockets by keeping the nozzle tip in contact with the joint edges and working at a consistent speed. Tool the joint immediately, before skin formation, using a shaping tool and a light soapy solution to achieve a smooth finish. Take care that the soapy solution does not get between the sealant and the joint edges, as this can reduce adhesion at the interface.

For bonding work, apply in beads or dots onto one substrate, including along edges and at corners of panels or trims, then press parts together firmly before skinning starts. In many grab adhesive applications, the initial tack reduces the need for temporary support, but heavier components or awkward vertical items may still require bracing until sufficient strength build up is achieved.

In all cases, good ventilation supports moisture curing and helps the product cure evenly through the bead.

Joint Dimensions

Joint design directly affects performance, movement capability, and appearance. For bonding, the minimum width is 2mm and the maximum width is 10mm. For sealing joints, the minimum width is 5mm and the maximum width is 30mm, with a minimum depth of 5mm. A good general rule for sealing is joint width equals 2x joint depth, as this supports a balanced sealant profile that can accommodate movement more reliably.

Ensure joints are correctly dimensioned and avoid thin smears, as insufficient thickness can reduce elasticity and long term durability. If the joint is deep, use a suitable backing material to control depth and avoid three sided adhesion where applicable, as this helps the sealant perform as a flexible joint seal rather than a rigid fill.

Coverage

Coverage depends entirely on bead size and joint geometry. As a practical guide, a narrow bead used as a grab adhesive will cover more area than a deep joint seal, while wider joints and thicker beads reduce linear metres per cartridge.

For accurate planning, especially when pricing jobs or ordering for site work, use the Platinum Chemicals Sealant Estimate Calculator to calculate approximate tubes required from the joint width and depth. Allow a sensible margin for wastage, tooling losses, and irregular substrates, particularly on rough masonry, uneven trims, and repaired surfaces where the bead may need to be slightly heavier to ensure full contact.

Curing Time

Fix ALL High Tack cures by moisture curing and begins forming a skin in around 5 minutes under typical conditions. The curing speed is approximately 3mm per 24 hours, but this can vary with temperature, humidity, airflow, and bead thickness. Cooler temperatures, low humidity, limited ventilation, and very deep beads can slow curing, while warm, well ventilated environments tend to speed it up.

Avoid disturbing the joint during the early skinning stage, and do not load bonded parts heavily until sufficient cure has developed through the bead. Where the product is used for strong bonding, allow the bond to build fully before subjecting it to high stress, movement, or cleaning processes.

Cleaning

Remove uncured Fix ALL High Tack immediately using Soudal Swipex Wipes, particularly from tools and adjacent non porous surfaces. Clean up as you go, as a high tack grab adhesive can be difficult to remove neatly once it begins to skin.

Once cured, the product can only be removed mechanically, with help from Soudal Sealant Remover Spray where appropriate. Avoid smearing onto visible faces of trims, panels, and surrounding finishes, masking tape can be used to protect edges and improve the finished line, then removed before full skin formation for a sharper result.

Limitations

Fix ALL High Tack is not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, copper, or copper containing materials such as bronze and brass, as adhesion may fail. Do not use it as a glazing sealant, use Silirub 2, use Silirub LMN, or for high humidity perimeter sealing use Soudal Stay Fresh Neutral. It is not suitable for bonding aquariums, use Silirub AQ.

Do not use it where continuous water immersion is possible, as permanent submersion can compromise long term performance. It can be used for bonding natural stone, but it is not suitable as a joint sealant on natural stone, use Silirub MA, use Fix ALL Flexi. On polycarbonate, compatibility can vary, use Silirub PC. Avoid self cleaning glass applications, use Soudal SMX 506. Contact with bitumen, tar, or plasticiser releasing materials such as EPDM, neoprene, or butyl should be avoided, as this can cause discolouration and loss of adhesion, for EPDM detailing use Silirub EPDM.

Fix ALL High Tack has good UV resistance but discolouration may occur under extreme conditions or after prolonged UV exposure, and chemical exposure, high temperatures, or intense UV can also affect appearance over time.

Other Information

Fix ALL High Tack is paintable with many water based paints once cured, but because paints and varnishes vary widely, carry out a compatibility test first. Alkyd resin based paints may dry more slowly over sealants, so allow extra time and confirm performance in a trial area.

When using different reactive joint sealants within the same area, ensure the first product has fully cured before applying the next, as early over application can cause adhesion issues or uncured interfaces. Maintain good ventilation throughout curing, especially in internal rooms, as steady airflow supports consistent cure and helps achieve the best strength and finish.

Q) What is Fix ALL High Tack and what is it designed to do?

A) Fix ALL High Tack is a premium SMX polymer adhesive sealant made for fast, confident bonding and sealing on site. It combines very high initial tack for instant hold with outstanding final strength up to 320kg/10cm², so fitted parts are less likely to slip while curing. Because it is neutral cure and permanently elastic, it behaves like a strong grab adhesive and a flexible sealant in one product. It is suitable for interior and exterior use, bonds to many common building materials, and can be applied in variable conditions, including onto slightly wet or humid substrates, as long as surfaces are sound and properly prepared.

Q) Is Fix ALL High Tack an adhesive, a sealant, or both?

A) Fix ALL High Tack is both an adhesive and a sealant, which is why it suits general fitting and finishing work. Used as an adhesive, it provides strong initial grab so trims, panels, and components stay where you place them. Used as a sealant, it forms an elastic bead that can close gaps and help maintain an airtight, watertight edge. The key is to match the bead design to the job. For bonding, apply beads or dots to create contact and allow moisture cure. For sealing, gun a continuous bead and tool it neatly before skinning for a durable, flexible finish.

Q) What does neutral cure mean with Fix ALL High Tack in practical use?

A) Neutral cure means Fix ALL High Tack cures without releasing aggressive by-products, supporting broad compatibility on common construction substrates and helping deliver a low odour application experience indoors. Practically, this makes it easier to use in occupied buildings, kitchens, bathrooms, and fit-out settings where strong solvent smells are unwanted. Neutral cure also helps when bonding mixed materials, such as timber to painted surfaces or metal to masonry, because it reduces the chance of surface reactions that can occur with more aggressive cure systems. You still need clean, stable substrates and correct joint design, but neutral cure helps make the product more forgiving across typical building combinations.

Q) What are the most common uses for Fix ALL High Tack on site?

A) Fix ALL High Tack is commonly used for bonding skirting boards, architraves, trims, profiles, lightweight panels, and general fixtures where quick grab improves alignment and speed. It is also used for sealing and bonding around joints where flexibility matters, including perimeter detailing, service penetrations, and making good where movement or vibration is expected. Because it combines bonding and sealing, it can reduce product switching during installation and snagging. It suits refurbishment and maintenance where conditions are not perfect, including slightly humid rooms or sheltered exterior jobs. On heavier or awkward items, temporary support may still be sensible until curing has progressed.

Q) Can Fix ALL High Tack be used outdoors and does it handle UK weather well?

A) Yes, Fix ALL High Tack is suitable for exterior bonding and sealing on compatible substrates, with good resistance to UV and weathering for long term outdoor performance. Once cured, it remains serviceable across -40°C to +90°C, so it can cope with cold snaps, seasonal movement, and sun-warmed surfaces. Outdoor success depends on preparation and timing. Avoid sealing onto dusty, unstable, greasy, or waterlogged edges, and do not apply where rain or run-off is likely to disturb fresh beads before skinning. If the detail is exposed, plan the work so the joint can remain undisturbed while the surface stabilises and curing develops.

Q) Can Fix ALL High Tack be applied to slightly wet or humid surfaces?

A) Fix ALL High Tack can be applied to slightly wet or humid substrates, which is useful on maintenance jobs where perfect dryness is unrealistic. Slightly wet does not mean contaminated. Remove standing water, heavy condensation, and any greasy film so the sealant can wet out the surface properly. On non-porous materials, clean using Soudal Cleaner & Degreaser and allow it to flash off fully before application. On dusty or friable porous backgrounds, Soudal Primer 150 can stabilise the surface and improve consistency. On difficult smooth finishes, Soudal Surface Activator may help. For critical bonds, do a small adhesion test first, especially on unknown coatings or plastics.

Q) Is Fix ALL High Tack suitable for bathrooms and kitchens, and does it resist mould?

A) Fix ALL High Tack contains XS1 fungicide technology, giving excellent resistance to mould growth and making it well suited to kitchens, bathrooms, and other humid interior areas. It is useful where you want a strong bond and a sealed edge, such as fixing trims, sealing around fittings, or making good service penetrations. Mould resistance works best with good detailing and clean surfaces. Remove old sealant, soap residue, limescale, and loose material fully, because contamination is a common cause of edge lift and staining. Maintain ventilation and regular cleaning once cured, as heavy deposits can encourage biological growth on any sealant surface over time, regardless of additives.

Q) Can Fix ALL High Tack be painted over once it has cured?

A) Fix ALL High Tack can be painted with many water based systems after curing, which helps achieve a tidy, integrated finish on trims and interior detailing. Allow the sealant to cure properly first, because early painting can affect finish quality and slow cure at the surface. Paint flexibility matters, as a brittle paint film can crack if the joint moves, even if the sealant stays elastic beneath it. Do a small compatibility test using the exact paint you plan to use, especially if it is a specialist finish. For best results, tool the bead smoothly so the painted line looks clean, and ensure the paint system is suitable for elastic substrates.

Q) How strong is Fix ALL High Tack and does it still stay flexible?

A) Fix ALL High Tack is designed for high strength bonding with flexibility, rather than rigid strength that can crack under movement. It can reach a final bond strength up to 320kg/10cm² on suitable substrates under correct conditions, while remaining permanently elastic with movement capability up to ±20%. This matters on real buildings where temperature cycling, vibration, and minor settlement can stress adhesive lines. The product’s fast skin formation of around 5 minutes helps early handling, and curing progresses at about 3mm per 24 hours. Because strength depends heavily on surface preparation and contact pressure, press parts firmly to wet out the adhesive and use bead patterns that allow reliable moisture curing.

Q) What is the best way to apply Fix ALL High Tack for bonding trims and panels?

A) For bonding, apply Fix ALL High Tack in beads or dots to one substrate, always including beads near edges and corners where peel forces are higher. Bring the parts together before skinning, then press firmly, because applied pressure has a big influence on final bond quality. The very high initial tack helps reduce slip, but heavy items, overhead work, or uneven backgrounds may still need temporary support until curing has developed. Avoid spreading it as a thin smear, as controlled beads give better cure behaviour and contact. Keep the work area clean so dust does not contaminate the nozzle, and plan your positioning before applying, as rapid grab rewards a confident first placement.

Q) How do I use Fix ALL High Tack as a sealant and get a neat finish?

A) For sealing, apply a continuous bead so it makes full contact with both sides of the joint, then tool it immediately for a compact, smooth profile. Fix ALL High Tack skins quickly, typically around 5 minutes, so work in manageable sections and remove masking tape straight after tooling while the bead is still fresh. If you use a lightly soapy finishing solution, keep it controlled so it does not contaminate the adhesion faces, as this can reduce edge adhesion and cause local lifting later. A clean joint edge and consistent nozzle cut make a big difference to appearance. In wet areas, avoid disturbing the joint until curing has progressed sufficiently for the bead thickness.

Q) What surface preparation gives the best long term results with Fix ALL High Tack?

A) The best long term results come from treating preparation as part of the installation, not an optional extra. Surfaces must be rigid, sound, and free from dust, grease, oils, loose coatings, and old sealant residue. On non-porous substrates, clean with Soudal Cleaner & Degreaser and allow it to flash off fully. On smooth or difficult finishes, Soudal Surface Activator can improve wetting. On porous, dusty, or absorbent backgrounds, prime with Soudal Primer 150 where needed to stabilise the surface. Remove plastic protective films and invisible release agents, as these often cause bond failure. Where substrates are unfamiliar or coated, do a small adhesion and compatibility test first.

Q) What joint sizes suit Fix ALL High Tack for sealing work?

A) Joint design affects movement capability and durability. For sealing, Fix ALL High Tack is suitable from 5mm minimum width up to 30mm maximum width, with a minimum depth of 5mm. A practical guide is joint width equals 2x joint depth, which supports elastic performance and reduces stress. Deep joints should be designed to avoid overfilling, and where appropriate you should use backing to control depth and reduce unnecessary material use. Ensure joint edges are stable and properly fixed before sealing, because movement in loose trims or rattling panels can defeat even a high performance sealant. If the detail needs greater movement than ±20%, select a product designed for that duty.

Q) How long does Fix ALL High Tack take to cure, and when can it be loaded?

A) Fix ALL High Tack cures by moisture reaction. It typically skins in around 5 minutes, which supports quick finishing, then cures through the bead at approximately 3mm per 24 hours depending on temperature, humidity, ventilation, and bead thickness. The initial tack helps hold components, but heavy loading should be delayed until enough cure has developed through the adhesive line. Cooler, drier conditions slow curing, while warm, humid conditions and airflow support it. For exterior work, protect fresh joints from rain and run-off during the early stage. If you plan to paint, allow sufficient cure first and confirm paint compatibility on a small test area.

Q) How do I estimate coverage for Fix ALL High Tack and avoid running short?

A) Coverage depends on bead size and joint geometry, so the most reliable approach is to estimate by joint volume rather than a generic metres-per-tube figure. Wider and deeper joints use significantly more product, and bonding patterns with multiple beads for panels reduce overall coverage compared with a single trim bead. For accurate estimating, use the Platinum Chemicals Sealant Estimate Calculator and enter the intended joint width and depth, then add a sensible margin for start-stops, nozzle trimming, tooling losses, and uneven substrates. On critical jobs, plan bead layouts in advance so you can order consistently, especially where you want uninterrupted runs and a uniform finish across multiple rooms or repeated maintenance tasks.

Q) What is the best way to clean up Fix ALL High Tack during and after application?

A) Clean-up is easiest while the product is uncured. Keep Soudal Swipex Wipes to hand and wipe tools and non-porous surfaces as you go, because high tack sealants become harder to remove once they begin to skin. If you are masking joints, remove the tape immediately after tooling to keep edges crisp. Once cured, Fix ALL High Tack generally requires mechanical removal, with Soudal Sealant Remover Spray used as a support product where appropriate to soften residues before scraping. Always test removers on a small hidden area first, especially on plastics, coated metals, lacquered finishes, and delicate decorative surfaces. Good housekeeping matters, as spilled sealant can create slip hazards, particularly on smooth floors.

Q) What materials should I avoid using Fix ALL High Tack on, and what should I use instead?

A) Avoid using Fix ALL High Tack on PE, PP, and PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, and copper or copper containing materials such as bronze and brass, as adhesion and compatibility can be unreliable. Do not use it as a glazing sealant, use Silirub 2 or Silirub LMN. Do not use it on self-cleaning glass, use Soudal SMX 506. For aquariums, use Silirub AQ. For polycarbonate, use Silirub PC. Avoid continuous water immersion. Also avoid contact with plasticiser releasing materials such as EPDM, neoprene, and butyl, as discolouration and adhesion loss can occur, and for EPDM details use Silirub EPDM. For bitumen waterproofing work, use Soudal Soudafalt.

Q) Is Fix ALL High Tack suitable for natural stone, and what is the safe approach?

A) Fix ALL High Tack can be used for bonding certain porous natural stones such as marble and limestone, where a flexible, non-staining style adhesive sealant is needed for fixing and installation. The safe approach is to keep application controlled and avoid smearing uncured product across the stone face. Ensure the stone is clean and stable, and be aware that surface sealers, waxes, or polishing treatments can reduce adhesion. If you are sealing joints on natural stone rather than bonding components, use a product designed for that purpose, such as Silirub MA or Fix ALL Flexi, because joint sealing places different demands on movement and finishing at the edges. As stone types vary, do a small test for adhesion and appearance before committing to visible areas.

Q) What is included in the Fix ALL High Tack Triple Pack Rewards Promo?

A) The Fix ALL High Tack Triple Pack is a promotional bundle that provides three tubes of Fix ALL High Tack in one convenient pack, aimed at frequent users who want consistent performance across multiple jobs without constant restocking. In practical terms, it is useful for planned maintenance, multi-room fit-outs, snagging lists, and mobile trades, where having spare tubes on hand prevents delays. The bundle format also links to the Fix ALL Rewards scheme, which adds an extra incentive alongside the product’s performance. The key benefit is convenience and continuity, because you can maintain the same bonding and sealing behaviour from job to job, especially where you rely on high initial grab and strong final strength.

Q) How does Fix ALL Rewards work with the Fix ALL High Tack Triple Pack?

A) Fix ALL Rewards is a loyalty scheme linked to promotional packs, including the Fix ALL High Tack Triple Pack. The process is designed to be straightforward: create an account on the Fix ALL Rewards website, register your qualifying purchase, then collect points that build towards redeemable rewards and access to competitions. Keep purchase evidence and register in line with the scheme’s instructions, and treat the rewards as an added bonus rather than the main reason to choose the product.

Q) What are the best tips for getting the most from Fix ALL High Tack on real jobs?

A) The best results come from controlling the basics. Prepare surfaces properly using Soudal Cleaner & Degreaser, use Soudal Surface Activator where required, and use Soudal Primer 150 on porous or dusty substrates where consistency matters. Cut the nozzle to a bead size that suits the job and apply steady pressure for a uniform line. For bonding, use beads that allow cure and press parts firmly, because contact quality matters more than time spent holding. For sealing, tool promptly before skinning and keep finishing solution away from adhesion faces. Plan the job so fresh beads are not disturbed, protect external work from rain during the early stage, and keep Soudal Swipex Wipes nearby for clean edges and faster finishing.
