Damp Proofing Membrane Kits

Browse or extensive range of Damp Proof Membrane Kits from industry-leading brands, available in many different sizes and ideal for any job large or small.

Our full range of Damp Proof Membranes including Fixing PlugsSealing Tapes and Ancillaries.

At Platinum Chemicals we specialise in Damp Proofing products, we stock a very wide range of Damp Proof Membranes from market leading brands such as our own Platinum BrandNewton® Waterproofing and Isola Platon®. We also offer Damp Proof Membrane kits, complete with sealing mastic & washers/plugs.

Our range of Damp Proof Membranes are used when Damp Proofing above ground walls subject to Rising Damp, Penetrating Damp or Salt Contamination.

Membranes which have a Meshed Surface (i.e Platinum DM3 Pro-MeshPlatinum DM2 Eco-MeshPlaton® PB2Newton® 803 Newtonite etc...) on one side can be finished with plaster, render or plasterboard bonded using adhesive dabs.

Platon® Plaster Base is a unique non-mesh studded Cavity Membrane with its patented undercut 'dovetail' shaped stud which provides a physical key for plaster and render or allows for the direct application of plasterboard on adhesive dabs.

If the membrane is NOT to be used as a render base, where a block wall or dry-lining frame is used as the wall finish, use Newton® 803 Non-Meshed Membrane.

We also have in stock a range of high quality Flooring Membranes (Isola Platon® Stop, Newton® 601 SlimlineNewton® 603) used primarily for isolating moisture-sensitive flooring from dampness in the floor slab.

See our full range of damp proofing products here.

Rising Damp is a common problem in older properties either because no damp proof course was installed at the time of building, or because a physical membrane has failed.

At Platinum Chemicals, we provide a range of Damp Proofing products to treat Rising Dampness like our range of damp proof membranes.

Penetrating Damp is also known as 'rain penetration' and can occur through walls, roofs, windows or door surrounds.

We also offer a wide range of Damp Proofing Membranes which can be used immediately after a Damp Proof Course to create a physical barrier between the damp wall and the new internal finish.

Some of these membranes have a mesh surface which creates a mechanical key to allow the membrane to be plastered, rendered or to receive dot & dab plasterboard.

What does a damp proof membrane do?

Damp Proof Membrane is a material that is used to prevent the rise of dampness or water within structures. It can be used in walls or under flooring.

Where do I put a damp proof membrane?

Damp Proof Membrane should be used in walls just before finishing to create the waterproof barrier. Their flexibility means they can cope with any movement that occurs within the structure, making the damp proof membrane last for decades.

Do I need a Damp Proof membrane under laminate flooring?

Yes. If you want to prevent damp from rising through the floor. Damp proof membranes should be applied to flooring including laminate, wood, vinyl and tiling.

How do I secure a Damp Proof Membrane?

Damp Proof membrane can be secured to walls by using fixings to pierce the membrane and attach it to the wall. Damp-proof membrane can also be placed within the bricks and cement of walls that are thick enough where these elements will secure it in place.

How much is damp proof membrane?

The cost of a damp proof membrane varies depending on the brand, thickness and size of the membrane you are purchasing. All of our damp proof membranes can be found here.
