Fix ALL TurboTack demonstrates excellent adhesion to a broad range of common building substrates including metals, timber, concrete, stone, and a variety of plastics.
It bonds reliably to materials such as lacquered wood, stainless steel, galvanised and anodised metals, PVC, ABS, polycarbonate, PMMA, polyamide, and fibreglass-reinforced composites.
However, it does not adhere to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE/Teflon®), bituminous materials, copper, or copper alloys such as bronze and brass.
In stress-loaded applications involving clear plastics such as Plexiglas® (PMMA) or Makrolon® (polycarbonate), the product may cause stress cracking or crazing and is therefore not recommended.
All surfaces must be rigid, structurally sound, dry, and free from dust, grease, and other contaminants. For porous surfaces subjected to water exposure, priming with Soudal Primer 150 is recommended.
Non-porous substrates should be prepared using Soudal Cleaner & Degreaser, and any manufacturing residues like release agents or protective films should be fully removed before bonding. For optimum adhesion on plastics or smooth surfaces, the use of Soudal Surface Activator is advised.
Always conduct a preliminary adhesion test to confirm compatibility with the substrate.
Apply Soudal Fix ALL TurboTack using a standard caulking gun. Dispense the adhesive in vertical beads or dabs every 15 cm along one surface. It is essential to apply adhesive at the edges and corners of the substrate, but not as a closed circumference—always leave breaks in the bead to avoid trapping air.
Position the surfaces to be bonded and press firmly, ideally tamping into place using a rubber mallet. In some cases, temporary mechanical support may be necessary until the adhesive reaches handling strength.
Under normal conditions, on porous surfaces with a thin adhesive layer, hand-tight adhesion is achieved in approximately 30 minutes, and the bonded materials can be lightly loaded after three hours.
Full curing and load-bearing strength are achieved after 24 to 48 hours, depending on layer thickness and substrate type.
Coverage will depend on the bead size and application method, but as a general guide, a standard 290ml Cartridge yields approximately 10 linear metres of 5mm x 5mm bead.
Ensure a minimum bond line thickness of 1mm to maintain the adhesive’s elastic properties and long-term performance.
Once applied, any visible excess adhesive should be tooled using a suitable spatula. This may be done with the aid of a mild soapy solution, although care should be taken to ensure the solution does not contact the bond surface, as this could interfere with final adhesion.
It is advisable not to apply any finishing agents or tooling solutions under direct sunlight due to rapid evaporation, which may result in uneven finishes or poor toolability.
Uncured Fix ALL TurboTack can be removed using Soudal Swipex Cleaning Wipes or white spirit. Once cured, it can only be removed mechanically or with the aid of Soudal Sealant Remover Spray.
Cleaning tools immediately after use is essential for maintaining the effectiveness and longevity of equipment.
Fix ALL TurboTack is not intended for use in glazing applications, permanent water immersion, or aquarium construction. It should not be used on substrates that may release plasticisers, such as EPDM, butyl, or neoprene, as this may result in staining or loss of adhesion.
While the product is compatible with many paints, it is recommended to perform a compatibility test prior to overpainting, as drying times for alkyd resin-based paints may increase. Discolouration may occur with prolonged UV exposure or in the presence of certain chemicals, though this does not affect mechanical properties.
Fix ALL TurboTack complies with LEED requirements for low-emitting materials, making it suitable for projects with indoor air quality standards. It conforms to SCAQMD Rule 1168 and meets USGBC LEED 2009 Credit 4.1 concerning VOC content.
For best results, always use in accordance with manufacturer guidance and ensure materials are conditioned and stored at room temperature prior to application.
