Full Surface Bonding For Floors, Walls And Interior Fit-Out

Soudal Fix ALL Floor & Wall is a professional grade full surface bonding adhesive developed for installers who need a ready to use solution that combines strong adhesion, flexibility and broad substrate compatibility. Based on advanced hybrid SMX Polymer Technology, it is formulated to bond a wide range of sheet materials and building finishes to walls and floors without any on site mixing. This makes it especially valuable on projects where speed, cleanliness and reliable coverage are essential, including interior fit-out, commercial refurbishment, bathroom upgrades, hygienic cladding installations and general building work. Because it performs across both porous and non porous backgrounds, it offers practical versatility on mixed substrate projects where a single dependable adhesive can simplify specification and help maintain a smoother, more efficient installation workflow.

Versatile Adhesion Across Tiles, Cladding And Decorative Finishes

One of the major strengths of Fix ALL Floor & Wall is its adaptability across both horizontal and vertical applications. It is suitable for bonding materials such as tiles, carpet tiles, natural stone cladding, decorative wall finishes, stainless steel or inox panels, splashbacks, timber panelling and PVCu hygienic cladding. As a trowellable full surface adhesive, it is designed to create a more uniform bonded layer over the substrate instead of relying on isolated beads or limited fixing points. This is especially important where larger sheet materials or decorative finishes require continuous support, improved contact and a secure long term bond across the full area. The result is a more evenly supported installation that can better withstand daily use, minor movement and the demands of service conditions.

Site Friendly Performance On Slightly Moist Surfaces

Fix ALL Floor & Wall is designed to remain practical under real site conditions, where perfectly dry substrates are not always achievable. It offers very good adhesion on many common materials, even where surfaces are slightly moist, which is a considerable advantage during refurbishment work and in rooms where residual humidity can delay traditional adhesives. The formulation is mould resistant and virtually odourless, making it particularly suitable for sanitary and hygiene sensitive environments such as bathrooms, washrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and cleanable wall systems. Because it is solvent free, isocyanate free, halogen free and acid free, it also supports a cleaner and more user friendly application process with fewer of the drawbacks associated with harsher adhesive technologies. This makes it easier to specify where indoor comfort and cleaner working practices matter.

Flexible, Stable And Suitable For Sensitive Finishes

Once cured, Fix ALL Floor & Wall forms a flexible yet durable bond with very good mechanical and thermal stability, helping it remain reliable across a wide range of service conditions. It can be painted wet on wet with water based paints where required, which supports a neater finished appearance on projects where the adhesive interface needs to blend into surrounding finishes. It also leaves no stains on porous substrates such as natural stone and marble, which is a major benefit where surface appearance is critical and staining would be unacceptable. With an open time of around 20 minutes, it provides enough working time for careful positioning and adjustment, while the cured adhesive remains stable across a service temperature range of -40°C to +80°C, making it a strong all round solution for modern floor and wall bonding.

Product Performance

Fix ALL Floor & Wall performs particularly well because it is designed around the practical needs of full surface bonding rather than simple point fixing. Its paste consistency makes it easy to spread with a suitable trowel, helping installers form an even adhesive bed across a wide area. That even coverage is one of its biggest advantages, as it improves contact between the substrate and the bonded material, reduces unsupported zones and helps create a more stable finish, particularly on sheet materials and cladding systems.

Its open time of around 20 minutes gives a useful working window for spreading, positioning and adjusting materials before the adhesive begins to lose workability, which is important on larger wall panels, floor areas and detailed interior fitting work. Consumption will vary depending on the substrate and the trowel used, but with a B3 trowel the expected usage of around 750-1000g/m² gives a realistic guide for planning coverage and material requirements on site.

Once cured, the product develops a flexible but robust bond with very good mechanical and thermal stability. An elasticity modulus of around 2.00N/mm², elongation at break of around 150% and maximum tension of around 2.20N/mm² indicate a bond that is strong enough for demanding surface applications while still retaining useful flexibility. That flexibility helps the adhesive absorb minor movement and reduce stress at the interface, which is particularly beneficial on wall panels, cladding and floor finishes that may be exposed to thermal variation or everyday service movement.

The cured adhesive can be loaded after around 48 hours, depending on conditions, and remains stable across a temperature range of -40°C to +80°C. Combined with its mould resistance, very low emission formulation, non-staining behaviour on porous materials and suitability for damp or difficult substrates, this gives Fix ALL Floor & Wall a very practical performance profile for interior bonding work where reliability, application speed and finish quality all matter.

Health & Safety Recommendations

Read the packaging label and Safety Data Sheet before use, and follow normal site hygiene throughout the work. Wear suitable gloves and eye protection, and avoid prolonged skin contact with uncured adhesive. If product gets onto skin, wipe it away promptly and wash with soap and water. If it gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice if irritation persists. Keep the work area well ventilated during application and curing, particularly in enclosed rooms or areas with limited airflow.

Fix ALL Floor & Wall is a ready to use silane terminated SMX polymer adhesive supplied in a 4kg bucket, so no mixing is required before application. Even so, good site discipline still matters. Keep tools, trowels and surrounding finishes clean during use, and protect adjacent decorative surfaces from smearing. Store the bucket sealed when not in use and keep it away from children, food preparation areas and open contamination.

Substrate Suitability

Fix ALL Floor & Wall is designed as a full surface bonding adhesive for horizontal and vertical applications on many usual building substrates. It is particularly suitable for interior bonding work where a flexible, full bed adhesive is required for floors, walls, panels, sheet materials, cladding elements and similar finishes. It is very suitable in combination with tested SPC floor and wall elements and can also be used on many other common porous and non-porous substrates, provided they are properly prepared, sound and stable.

It is not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, copper or copper containing materials such as bronze and brass. Bonding plastics such as PMMA, for example Plexi® glass, and polycarbonate, for example Makrolon® or Lexan®, in stress loaded applications can lead to stress cracking and crazing, so Fix ALL Floor & Wall is not recommended in those situations. Because the range of possible substrates and finishes is very wide, it is strongly recommended to carry out an adhesion and compatibility test on both substrates before starting the main installation.

Surface Preparation

Correct preparation is essential for reliable full surface adhesion. Fix ALL Floor & Wall should be applied only onto a flat, rigid, permanently dry, clean, dust free and grease free surface. The substrate must not contain loose particles, flaking paint, wax, oil or other contamination that could interfere with adhesion. Moisture curing adhesives depend on good surface contact, so uneven, friable or contaminated areas can significantly reduce bond quality and long term durability.

Irregularities such as residual concrete levelling compounds, old adhesive films, weak laitance or previous floor and wall coverings can adversely affect adhesion and should preferably be removed mechanically. Sanding, grinding or blasting are suitable preparation methods depending on the substrate and the extent of contamination. Concrete surfaces that are not sound enough should preferably be removed back to a solid base before the adhesive is applied. The flatter and more stable the surface, the better the final contact area and the more reliable the finished bond.

Before spreading the adhesive, check that the substrate is dry in service terms and suitable for the finish being installed. Although Fix ALL Floor & Wall offers excellent adhesion and flexibility, it should not be expected to compensate for poor backgrounds, structural instability or contaminated surfaces.

Application Method

Fix ALL Floor & Wall is applied with an adhesive trowel rather than a cartridge gun, as it is intended for full surface bonding rather than bead application. Spread the adhesive onto the prepared substrate using a suitable adhesive trowel held at an angle of approximately 60°. This helps form a consistent rib pattern and supports even transfer of adhesive onto the back of the material being installed. Use steady, methodical trowelling so the adhesive layer remains uniform across the working area.

Do not spread more adhesive than can be covered within the open time. Under normal conditions, the open time is approximately 20 minutes, so only apply the product to the portion of substrate that can be worked up within that period. Larger areas should be broken down into manageable sections so the adhesive remains workable and achieves good wetting of the back of the material. Press the floor or wall covering firmly into the adhesive bed while it is still fresh, ensuring full contact and eliminating trapped voids. On wall work, take care that the bonded material is aligned correctly before the adhesive starts to build strength.

Because Fix ALL Floor & Wall is a trowellable full surface adhesive, it is especially important to avoid contaminating the visible face of the material during installation. Any squeeze out or smearing onto the exposed surface should be removed immediately while uncured.

Coverage

Coverage depends on the substrate, the flatness of the background, the back profile of the material being bonded and the trowel used. With a B3 trowel, the stated consumption is approximately 750-1000g/m². Based on a 4kg bucket, this gives an approximate coverage of around 4m² to 5.3m² under typical conditions.

In practical terms, flatter substrates and smoother backings tend to produce better coverage, while rougher surfaces and more absorbent or uneven materials will reduce the area covered per bucket.

For ordering and planning, it is sensible to allow a margin for substrate irregularity, perimeter detailing and site losses. On refurbishment work in particular, consumption can increase where the background is less uniform or where more adhesive is required to achieve consistent contact.

Curing Time

Fix ALL Floor & Wall cures by moisture curing. The curing speed is approximately 3mm/24h, although actual cure time will vary depending on temperature, humidity, substrate type, adhesive thickness and ventilation. The product has an open time of approximately 20 minutes, which gives a practical working window for spreading and positioning materials before the adhesive begins to lose transfer performance.

Under normal conditions, bonded finishes can be loaded after approximately 48 hours. Heavier coverings, less absorbent substrates, cooler temperatures or restricted airflow can extend this timeframe, so loading should be delayed if site conditions are less favourable. Once cured, the adhesive retains a flexible but durable bond with good mechanical stability and service temperature resistance from -40°C to +80°C.

Cleaning

Uncured Fix ALL Floor & Wall should be cleaned immediately using Soudal Swipex Wipes. Prompt cleaning is especially important on visible finishes, edges and surrounding decorative surfaces, as cured residue is much harder to remove cleanly. Keep trowels and tools clean throughout the work to maintain an even spread and avoid dragging partially curing adhesive across the substrate or finish.

Once cured, the product can only be removed mechanically. This means prevention is far better than cure, especially on sensitive finishes such as decorative wall panels, coated surfaces and natural stone. Clean up any smudges or surplus adhesive as the installation progresses rather than leaving it until later.

Limitations

Fix ALL Floor & Wall is not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, copper or copper containing materials such as bronze and brass. It can be used for bonding natural stone, but it cannot be used as a joint sealant on this type of surface. It should not be used in applications where continuous water immersion is possible. It is also not intended to replace proper surface preparation or to compensate for weak, contaminated or permanently damp backgrounds.

Because substrate diversity is so wide, especially with plastics, coatings and specialist finishes, an adhesion test should always be carried out before full use. This is particularly important on less common substrates, where even a technically compatible material can behave differently depending on its surface treatment or manufacture.

Other Information

Fix ALL Floor & Wall is a one-component, trowellable adhesive supplied ready to use in a 4kg bucket, which helps reduce site mess and removes the variability associated with mixing two-part systems. It is solvent-free, very low emission and easy to tool, making it a practical choice for interior fit-out, refurbishment and sanitary area work where a cleaner application process is preferred. It can be painted wet-on-wet with water based paints, but because paint systems vary considerably, a compatibility test should always be carried out before full decoration.

Its cured mechanical profile, including an elasticity modulus of approximately 2.00N/mm², elongation at break of around 150% and a Shore A hardness of 65 ± 5, supports a bond that is strong yet still flexible enough to cope with minor movement and service stresses. For the best results, plan the work in sections, keep the adhesive bed consistent, and ensure the material is placed within the open time so full surface transfer is achieved.

Q) What is Fix ALL Floor & Wall and what is it designed to do?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall is a ready-to-use, high quality flexible construction adhesive developed for full surface bonding on both floors and walls. Supplied in a practical 4kg bucket, it is designed for installers who want a one-component adhesive that can be spread straight from the pack without mixing. It is based on advanced SMX Polymer Technology and is intended for interior fitting, refurbishment work, sanitary areas, and general building projects where a reliable full bed bond is needed. Because it is trowellable rather than bead-applied, Fix ALL Floor & Wall helps create even contact beneath the bonded material, which improves support, reduces hollow spots, and contributes to a more secure and consistent long-term finish.

Q) What can Fix ALL Floor & Wall be used for?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall is designed for full surface bonding of a wide range of finishes and sheet materials on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Typical uses include bonding natural stone, tiles, stainless steel panels, splashbacks, timber panelling, carpet tiles, and PVCu hygienic cladding. It is especially useful where the installer needs continuous support across the back of the material rather than isolated fixing points. That makes it a strong option for decorative wall finishes, hygienic wall systems, commercial interiors, refurbishment projects, and general fitting work where a stable, evenly supported bond is important. Its broad use across floors and walls also helps reduce the need to keep switching between different adhesives on site.

Q) Why would someone choose Fix ALL Floor & Wall instead of a standard cartridge adhesive?

A) The main difference is that Fix ALL Floor & Wall is designed for full surface bonding rather than narrow beads or spot fixing. A standard cartridge adhesive can work well for local fixing tasks, but it does not always provide the continuous support needed for larger sheet materials, cladding panels, floor finishes, or broad wall coverings. Fix ALL Floor & Wall is trowellable, which means it can be spread evenly across the substrate to create a more uniform adhesive layer. This helps improve contact, reduce unsupported areas, and give the bonded material better long-term stability. It is especially valuable where flatness, full coverage, and consistent support are more important than simple grab in isolated points.

Q) Is Fix ALL Floor & Wall suitable for both floor and wall applications?

A) Yes, Fix ALL Floor & Wall is specifically developed for both horizontal and vertical use, which is one of its biggest advantages. On floors, it can be used where a full bed flexible adhesive is needed to support bonded finishes such as carpet tiles and similar materials. On walls, it is well suited to panelling, hygienic cladding, decorative surfaces, splashbacks, and similar sheet-based installations where consistent support across the whole back of the material improves the final result. This dual-purpose design makes Fix ALL Floor & Wall a practical choice for refurbishment and fit-out projects where the same adhesive may be needed across several different substrates, rooms, and installation types without changing products.

Q) What materials will Fix ALL Floor & Wall bond to?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall is intended for use on most porous and non-porous construction materials commonly found in interior building work. It is suitable for natural stone, tiles, stainless steel panels, splashbacks, timber panelling, carpet tiles, and PVCu hygienic cladding, and it is also described as very suitable in combination with tested SPC floor and wall elements. This broad compatibility makes it useful on modern mixed-material projects where wall and floor finishes can vary significantly from one area to another. Even so, proper substrate checks still matter. The surface must be sound, clean, and suitable for bonding, because even a versatile adhesive like Fix ALL Floor & Wall can only perform properly when it is applied onto a stable background.

Q) Is Fix ALL Floor & Wall suitable for natural stone and marble?

A) Yes, Fix ALL Floor & Wall is suitable for bonding porous natural stone, including materials such as marble and stone cladding, which is a major advantage on visible architectural work. One of its useful properties is that it does not stain porous substrates in the way some other adhesive systems can. That makes it a strong option where appearance matters just as much as strength, especially on decorative stone wall finishes and premium interior detailing. Because natural stone varies in porosity, finish, and sensitivity, it is still sensible to carry out a compatibility test before full installation. In practical terms, Fix ALL Floor & Wall is best suited to full surface stone bonding where even support and a clean finished appearance are important.

Q) Can Fix ALL Floor & Wall be used in bathrooms, kitchens, and sanitary areas?

A) Yes, Fix ALL Floor & Wall is very well suited to bathrooms, kitchens, washrooms, utility areas, and other hygiene-sensitive environments. It is mould resistant, virtually odourless, and designed for interior installations where cleanability, durability, and practical site handling all matter. This makes it especially useful for hygienic cladding, splashbacks, wall panels, and other bonded finishes in spaces exposed to humidity and regular cleaning. Its very low emission profile also makes it more comfortable to use in enclosed interior environments than harsher adhesive systems. When applied onto a properly prepared background, Fix ALL Floor & Wall provides a flexible, durable full surface bond that suits sanitary and moisture-prone interiors where long-term performance and a tidy finish are both important.

Q) Does Fix ALL Floor & Wall work on slightly moist surfaces?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall is described as offering very good adhesion on slightly moist surfaces, which is helpful on refurbishment work and in real site conditions where absolute dryness is not always easy to achieve. That said, the preparation guidance still makes it clear that the substrate should be flat, rigid, permanently dry, clean, and free from contamination before full surface bonding begins. The best way to understand this is that the product can tolerate slight residual surface moisture better than many traditional adhesives, but it is not intended for wet, unstable, or waterlogged backgrounds. For the most reliable result, Fix ALL Floor & Wall should always be applied onto a well-prepared substrate with no standing moisture or structural dampness.

Q) What are the main benefits of using Fix ALL Floor & Wall?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall offers several practical advantages that make it attractive for professional fitting work. It is ready to use, so there is no on-site mixing, which helps reduce mess and application errors. It provides full surface bonding, which improves support beneath the material and helps reduce hollow areas. It adheres to many porous and non-porous substrates, is suitable for floors and walls, and works well in sanitary or hygiene-sensitive environments thanks to its mould resistant, virtually odourless formulation. It is also solvent-free, isocyanate-free, halogen-free and acid-free, with very low emissions. Together, these qualities make Fix ALL Floor & Wall a flexible, easy-to-apply, and reliable interior bonding adhesive for a wide range of materials.

Q) How is Fix ALL Floor & Wall applied properly?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall is applied with an adhesive trowel rather than a cartridge gun because it is designed for full bed coverage. The adhesive should be spread onto the prepared substrate using a suitable trowel held at an angle of about 60°, which helps form an even ribbed adhesive layer. Only spread as much as can be covered within the open time, because once the adhesive begins to lose workability the transfer performance will drop. After spreading, the floor or wall finish should be pressed firmly into the fresh adhesive bed to achieve full contact and eliminate trapped voids. On vertical applications, careful positioning matters because the material should be aligned properly while the adhesive is still workable.

Q) What trowel should be used with Fix ALL Floor & Wall?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall is commonly referenced with a B3 trowel for coverage and usage guidance, which gives a practical benchmark for many installations. With a B3 trowel, the stated consumption is around 750-1000g/m², which provides a useful planning figure for estimating coverage from the 4kg bucket. The important thing is not only the trowel size itself, but also the quality and consistency of the spread. A suitable trowel helps create an even adhesive bed across the full area, which is essential for proper contact and long-term performance. If the material being bonded has an unusual back profile or the substrate is less even, the installer may need to adjust technique accordingly to keep Fix ALL Floor & Wall performing properly.

Q) How much working time do you get with Fix ALL Floor & Wall?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall has an open time of around 20 minutes, which gives a useful working window for spreading the adhesive and positioning the bonded material before the surface begins to lose transfer performance. This is especially important on larger wall panels, cladding boards, floor areas, or decorative finishes where the installer may need a little time to line everything up properly. Even so, it is best to work in controlled, manageable sections rather than spreading too much at once. If the adhesive is left exposed beyond its practical open time, the final contact and bond quality can be reduced. Good planning, steady spreading, and placing the material promptly all help Fix ALL Floor & Wall perform at its best.

Q) How much area does a 4kg bucket of Fix ALL Floor & Wall cover?

A) Coverage depends on the substrate, the back of the material being bonded, and the trowel used, but the stated guide with a B3 trowel is approximately 750-1000g/m². Based on that figure, a 4kg bucket of Fix ALL Floor & Wall will typically cover around 4m² to 5.3m² under normal conditions. In practice, smoother substrates and flatter materials usually give better coverage, while rougher or less even backgrounds tend to increase adhesive consumption. Refurbishment work can also use more product if the surface is less uniform or if extra material is needed to maintain full contact. For ordering, it is always wise to allow a sensible margin so that perimeter work, site losses, and substrate variation do not leave the job short.

Q) How long does Fix ALL Floor & Wall take to cure?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall cures by moisture reaction and has a curing speed of approximately 3mm per 24 hours, although real-world curing will vary with temperature, humidity, substrate type, adhesive thickness, and airflow. Its open time is about 20 minutes, so the product should be covered within that practical working window. Under normal conditions, bonded finishes can generally be loaded after around 48 hours, which gives the adhesive time to develop into a durable, flexible full bed bond. Less absorbent materials, thicker adhesive layers, cooler temperatures, or poor ventilation can all extend the cure time, so the site conditions should always be considered before the installed finish is put fully into service.

Q) Is Fix ALL Floor & Wall flexible after curing?

A) Yes, Fix ALL Floor & Wall cures to a flexible but durable bond rather than a rigid, brittle one. This is important because floor and wall finishes are often exposed to minor movement, temperature variation, service stress, and small differences in expansion between the substrate and the bonded material. The mechanical profile described for the product shows a balance of strength and flexibility, with an elasticity modulus of around 2.00N/mm², elongation at break of roughly 150%, and a Shore A hardness of 65 ± 5. In practical terms, that means Fix ALL Floor & Wall provides solid support while still tolerating a degree of movement, which helps reduce stress build-up and supports a more reliable long-term bond.

Q) Can Fix ALL Floor & Wall be painted?

A) Yes, Fix ALL Floor & Wall can be painted wet-on-wet with water-based paints where required, which is helpful on installations where the bonded finish or surrounding detail needs to integrate neatly into a decorative scheme. As always, paint systems vary, so a compatibility test is the safest approach before full decoration, especially where finish quality matters. The paintability of Fix ALL Floor & Wall is not usually the main reason people choose it, but it is a useful added advantage on interior work where adhesives can sometimes remain visible at edges, trims, or transitions. Used correctly, it gives the installer more finishing flexibility without sacrificing the strong full surface bond that the product is designed to deliver.

Q) How should you clean up Fix ALL Floor & Wall?

A) Uncured Fix ALL Floor & Wall should be cleaned immediately using Soudal Swipex Wipes. Because it is spread over broader areas with a trowel rather than applied in narrow beads, it is important to keep tools, hands, and surrounding surfaces clean as the work progresses. Any smears onto visible finishes, natural stone, decorative cladding, or stainless panels are much easier to remove while still fresh than after the product has started to cure. Once cured, Fix ALL Floor & Wall can only be removed mechanically, which is why good housekeeping is so important during installation. The best results come from cleaning as you go rather than leaving squeeze-out or smudges to deal with later.

Q) What surfaces is Fix ALL Floor & Wall not suitable for?

A) Fix ALL Floor & Wall is not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE, bituminous substrates, copper, or copper-containing materials such as bronze and brass. It is also not recommended for stress-loaded applications involving PMMA, such as Plexi® glass, or polycarbonate, such as Makrolon® or Lexan®, because stress cracking and crazing can occur in those materials. In addition, the product should not be expected to compensate for weak, dirty, unstable, or permanently damp backgrounds. Even where a material seems technically compatible, coatings and finishes can vary widely, so it is always wise to carry out an adhesion and compatibility test before full application. That is especially important when using Fix ALL Floor & Wall on unfamiliar surfaces or specialist finishes.

Q) What are the main limitations of Fix ALL Floor & Wall?

A) The main limitations are linked to substrate type and installation conditions rather than the basic quality of the adhesive itself. Fix ALL Floor & Wall is designed for full surface bonding on sound, well-prepared backgrounds, so it should not be used to overcome poor preparation, unstable surfaces, or structural moisture problems. It is not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE, bituminous materials, or copper-based substrates, and it should not be used in stress-loaded PMMA or polycarbonate applications. It also cannot be treated as a cure-all for uneven or friable backgrounds. For the best performance, Fix ALL Floor & Wall needs a flat, rigid, properly prepared substrate and an installation method that respects its open time, coverage requirements, and curing profile.

Q) What tips help you get the best results with Fix ALL Floor & Wall?

A) The best results come from treating Fix ALL Floor & Wall as a full surface professional bonding system rather than a quick general-purpose paste. Prepare the substrate thoroughly so it is flat, rigid, sound and clean. Remove old adhesive residues, loose material, contamination and any weak surface layers before you start. Work in manageable sections so the material can be placed within the 20-minute open time, and use a suitable trowel to maintain an even adhesive bed. Press the bonded finish firmly into the adhesive while it is still fresh so good transfer is achieved across the whole area. Finally, allow realistic curing time before loading. With Fix ALL Floor & Wall, preparation and even coverage make all the difference.
