Delta Channel With Upstand

Delta Channel is a component part used within the Type C Cavity Drainage System.

Delta Channel is a distinctive yellow, PVC drainage conduit designed to manage water  ingress.

Delta Channel is bedded into a preformed rebate at the vulnerable floor/wall junction and is suited for use in conjunction with Delta’s Cavity Drain Membrane Range.

Water enters the Channel via preformed holes and is diverted into a suitable drainage point, either mechanical (sump pump / package pump station) or natural (gravity fed).

Delta Channel is particularly suited as a component within the Type C Cavity Drainage System as water ingress through a structures walls, floors or curved soffits is controlled behind the membranes and diverted into the Delta Channel.

Benefits:

  • Controls Water Ingress

  • Tough, Durable Design

  • Quick & Easy Installation

  • Links to Sump Pump System

  • Fast fit to link longer runs together

Application Method:

Form a trough 130mm deep x 130mm wide in the floor at the wall/floor junction. Apply the Delta Cavity Drain Membrane to the wall and finish 100mm minimum below existing floor level.

Lay a shallow bed of 20mm stone into the trough. Place the Delta Channel onto the stone with the upstand to the top and flat against the waterproofing / cavity drain membrane to the wall.

Lengths of Delta Channel are butt jointed on straight runs using the Delta Straight Connectors.

The Delta Corner Pieces are used to join lengths of Delta Channel conduit at corners.

The Delta T-Pieces can be used for 'teeing off' of the channel to dissect the floor or to discharge to a centrally located sump. Delta Channel (Without Upstand) should be used in conjunction when channelling across the floor.

Delta Access Port Units should be installed into the channel system per every 10 - 12 metres of channel. Delta Jetting Eyes may also be incorporated onto Delta T-Pieces and Corner Pieces via the 'push out' feature allowing for an inspection port.

Fit the Delta End Caps into the Channel at the appropriate locations. End Caps have a dual role and can work as either a blanking plate (at the far end of a channel run) or can be converted easily with their 'Push Out' feature for easy fit of drainage pipe outlet (connector) to join with the sump pump station.

Infill the remaining gap between the Delta Channel and the side of the trough with 20mm stone and finish flush with the flat surface of the Delta Channel.

When installing a membrane over the floor, make good the remaining area with 20mm stone. Lay the membrane over the floor area and seal to the wall membrane using Delta Corner Strip .

When the Cavity Drain Membrane is not going to be installed over the floor, make good the remaining area with approximately 50mm screed.

Maintenance:

It is recommended that the Delta Channel be jet washed via the Delta Access Port Units or Delta Jetting Eyes, which should be incorporated in the channel system, at least once every six months.

This should be carried out by the installing contractor (under a maintenance contract) or by the property owner. During this cleaning process the pumps (if installed) should also be run with water out of the sump chamber to ensure they are fully operational and that the sump chamber be cleaned of any sludge / silt that may have accumulated.

In addition to this, the high water level battery alarm box and alarm sensor should also checked for working order.
