ACS Mould Wash Concentrate

ACS Mould Wash Concentrate is a concentrated fungicidal cleaner and surface biocide for amateur and professional use against mould fungi, mildew and algae on internal and external surfaces such as masonry, tiles, wood and painted surfaces.

ACS Mould Wash Concentrate is used mainly as a pre-wash to cleanse surfaces before the application of ACS Anti Mould Paint Emulsion and ACS Hydrobar Anti Condensation Paint as well as being a General Biocidal Cleaner.

ACS Mould Wash Concentrate carries the HSE Approval No 7676.

General Information

There are basic measures to assist in the control of condensation and the black mould.

Our range of ACS Anti Mould and Condensation Control Products complement these basic controls and will prevent these problems occurring for many years.

These methods are particularly helpful in the domestic environment but can be applied equally to most commercial premises.

It is always important to reduce the risk of condensation by observing the following simple recommendations:-

Ensure rooms are always warm and properly ventilated, maintaining some low heating throughout the day if possible.
When cooking, washing, bathing or drying clothes, keep the door closed and the window open - this prevents warm moist air moving to colder areas of the building.
In cold weather keep some heating on all the time.
If a paraffin or flue less gas heater is used ensure a window is open a little (every litre of paraffin produces about 1 litre of water).
Improve internal / external wall insulation.
Use ventilation systems where appropriate.

Preparation

Prepare surfaces by removing non-washable and loose material, e.g. flaking paint, grease, dirt, mould or wallpaper.
Make good any surface defects and rub down to a smooth finish.

Application Method

Dilute 1 part ACS Mould Wash Concentrate with 19 parts water.
Wash down the prepared area with the diluted ACS Mould Wash Concentrate using a sponge, scrubbing brush or cloth.
Allow to dry thoroughly, drying times are generally between 1 - 4 hours. Apply second wash in badly soiled areas and allow to dry.
Prime any bare areas of plaster and woodwork with ACS Anti Mould Paint Emulsion, thinned up to 10% with water if necessary.
Apply the appropriate ACS Anti Mould Paint Emulsion or ACS Hydrobar Anti Condensation Coating.
Alternatively, mix ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive into standard emulsion paint at a rate of one 50ml bottle per 2.5L of Emulsion.

Drying Time

Usually around 1- 4 hours.

Coverage

Approximately 10 - 12m² per litre when diluted depending on the porosity and roughness of the surface.
