Updated: Friday 9th January 2026
The Met Office has issued yellow and amber weather warnings for snow and ice during the current cold spell. As a result, deliveries into some areas may take longer than usual due to hazardous driving conditions, local road closures, and disruption within regional delivery networks.
We are continuing to dispatch orders as normal at Platinum Chemicals. However, the postcode information below has been provided by our courier, APC Overnight, based on the depots currently reporting the highest risk of service disruption.
Why Deliveries May Be Delayed
Snow, ice, and sub zero overnight temperatures can slow down every part of the network, from trunking between hubs to local vans reaching individual addresses. Even where roads look clear, untreated surfaces can refreeze quickly, so drivers may need to reduce speed, reroute, or postpone delivery attempts for safety reasons.
If your area is affected by wintry conditions, your parcel may show as in transit for longer than normal, arrive a day or two later than expected, or be rescheduled by the courier until access is safe.
Areas Most Likely To Experience Delays
The following depot areas and postcode ranges are the locations currently flagged by APC Overnight as most likely to experience delivery delays.
| Area | Impacted Postcodes |
|---|---|
| Aberdeen | AB10-16, AB21-24, AB30-35, AB39, AB41-43, AB51-54 & ZE1-3 |
Please note that weather impacts can change quickly. Areas outside the ranges above can still be affected if conditions worsen locally or if regional hubs become congested.
What This Means For Your Order
We are still processing and dispatching orders, but delivery times may slip depending on local conditions and depot capacity. If your delivery is delayed, it is usually because the courier has had to pause a route, reduce coverage, or manage a backlog after missed runs. If you need an item for a specific job date, allow extra time where possible.
Staying Updated
For the latest warning coverage and local forecast changes, keep an eye on Met Office updates, as warnings can be updated quickly.
We will continue to do everything we can to keep orders moving, and we appreciate your patience while APC Overnight and the wider delivery network work through the disruption safely.
