Thor Helical Remedial Epoxy Resin is a Two Component, Solvent Free, Thixotropic, Pure Epoxy Resin System, formulated for bonding or anchoring most building materials, such as brick, stone, steel, mortar and timber.
Once cured, the Epoxy Resin creates a strong, stress free joint regardless of the surrounding environment.
Supplied in 400ml Cartridges (2 x 200ml Twin Cartridge) Complete with Mixer Nozzle.
Size
Immaculate condition 400ml tubes. The product has a muted red-pink tone when it cures and sets rock hard. Quite tacky, but this will still blob down a bit if you over apply it to a vertical surface. In our case we were able to flame treat powder-coated metal and get a very strong bond which completely exceeded our expectations. This is about the strongest solution you will find for chemical anchors and extreme bonding. It is still brittle (as are all raw epoxies), so ensure you use it for the right jobs; for instance a flexible masonry repair grout should be used for helical stitching, but you can still bond the ends into anchor points with this product. The setting time is great - it seems like well over an hour and will not tack up, but it will set overnight and cure within a couple of days. When it sets you will still be able to indent it slightly with pressure. When it cures, it will become dry and not tacky at all; this is the time to add loads. There are no noxious odours. It will easily wipe clean with isopropyl alcohol, yet even the smallest amount you leave on a surface will for a very strong bond. It will blush to a slightly white colour if subjected to rain, but providing you apply it when dry - this will have no impact on your finished job, none. It impregnates really well into every material we have tested and the bond strength will blow your mind. There aren't really instructions on the product and the use by date is absent - my only constructive feedback. Thanks Simon. Superb write up. Great to hear the product arrived in perfect condition and that the resin delivered the rock hard bond you were after. Your notes on open time and the way a heavy bead can creep on verticals are spot on. Keeping to thinner passes and letting the material build is the right approach. Flame treating the powder coated metal clearly paid off and it is good to hear there was no lingering odour and that IPA wipedown worked well. The slight whitening you mention if it is caught by rain before full cure is the usual surface blush and it dries back without affecting the finished job.
For reference, there should be a manufacturer date in MM/YY near the top of each cartridge. We will also pass your feedback to the manufacturer to look at updating their data sheets with clearer application instructions. Thanks again for choosing Platinum Chemicals.

Once cured Thor Helical Remedial Epoxy Resin creates a strong stress free joint regardless of the surrounding environment.
Prior to the application of Thor Epoxy Resin all surfaces must be free from dust, oil, rust and grease.
Any loose materials must be removed back to a sound surface.
Mixing takes place in a static spiral mixer, which delivers the mixed product to the required surface.
Extrude Thor Epoxy Resin onto a surface until a consistent non-streaky colour is achieved.
Thor Epoxy Resin has no waste apart from the mixed product in the nozzle, which will stay workable for a minimum of 15 minutes.
This time can vary depending upon the working temperature.
