Active Ingredients:

Permethrin 0.06% w/w

As a synthetic pyrethroid, Permethrin serves as an effective insecticide, particularly targeting wood-boring insects like woodworm. It operates by disrupting the nervous systems of these pests, leading to their swift eradication. This action is crucial for protecting wood from damage caused by insect infestation, thus preserving both its structural integrity and appearance.

3-iodo-2-Propynyl-N-Butyl Carbamate 0.52% w/w

Commonly referred to as IPBC, this compound is a widely used fungicide and biocide. Its primary role in wood preservation is to combat and prevent wood discolouring fungi and other organisms that lead to decay. By doing so, IPBC plays a significant part in maintaining the wood's structural strength and its aesthetic quality, ensuring that it remains free from unsightly fungal growth and the deterioration it can cause.

Tebuconazole 0.14% w/w

Tebuconazole is a triazole class fungicide known for its broad-spectrum efficacy against various fungi, particularly those responsible for wood decay. By inhibiting the growth and reproduction of fungal cells, Tebuconazole provides a robust shield for the wood, safeguarding it against rot and decay. This protection is essential for prolonging the life of the wood and preserving its natural qualities over time.

Health & Safety Recommendations:

Take the usual labour hygiene into account.

PPE should be worn during application. See our Safety & PPE Products.

Consult label and material safety data sheet for more information.

Preparation on Bare Timbers & Masonry:

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free of oil, grease and organic growth. Silvered timber should be lightly abraded prior to application.

When using on masonry, brush the surface to remove and dust or debris and make good any cracks or defects.

Preparation on Previously Painted Timbers & Masonry:

ACS Lignotec must be applied to an adsorbent surface. Therefore, all existing paint or varnish should be removed prior to application and the surface brushed to remove dust and dirt. Exhibit care when removing old paints as many were lead-based.

Application Method:

DO NOT THIN. Stir well or shake bottle before use. When using as either a surface biocide (to control moulds and algae) or a wood preservative (to control wood decay fungi and wood boring insects) to the prepared surface, apply 2 coats by sprayer, brush or roller. A third coat may be applied if necessary.

When treating timber, spread evenly along the grain. The number of applications required will be determined by the wood type and / or porosity of the masonry.

Subsequent Coatings:

Once dry, ACS Lignotec can be over-coated with a suitable protective topcoat such as Hydrobar® Woodbead (for Timber) or Wykamol Enviroseal or Dryseal Masonry Cream (for Masonry). Most commercially available topcoats are also suitable but we recommend testing a small area first to ensure the topcoat is compatible.

Coverage:

Apply at a rate of 200ml per m².  1 Litre of ACS Lignotec should treat approximately 5m² of timber or masonry.

Drying:

Approximately 4-6 Hours depending on conditions and substrate porosity, however it's advisable to allow 24 hours before over-coating with stains, paints or varnishes.
