ACS Lignotec Woodworm & Rot Treatment

ACS Lignotec is a ready-to-use, multi-purpose, multi-functional wood preservative and surface biocide, designed for application to a wide variety of surfaces, including, brick, stone, wood and metal.

The product is suitable for exterior application in use classes 3 and 4 on surfaces not in direct contact with the ground or water.

ACS Lignotec has approval under UK COPR for amateur, professional and industrial use (for commercial application, see separate data sheet).

ACS Lignotec is moisture regulating and penetrates deeply into both wood and masonry.

ACS Lignotec carries the HSE Approval No 10893.

Composition:

ACS Lignotec is based on modified vegetable oil and co-polymers, combined with a combination of low-toxicity fungicides and insecticide in aqueous medium.

Product Uses:

As a Surface Biocide
ACS Lignotec can be used to control and eradicate mould and algae on stone, brick, render, timber and metal. Offers long-term protection on masonry when used in association with Wykamol Enviroseal or Dryseal Masonry Cream (for Masonry) or ACS HydroBar® Woodbead (for Timber).

As a Wood Preservative
ACS Lignotec can be used to treat timber against wood decay fungi, disfiguring fungi, such as sapstain, and wood boring insects (woodworm). Ideal for use on sheds, fences, trellis, cladding, barge-boards, soffits, Yorkshire boarding and general construction timbers. Use as a pre-treatment before applying topcoats such as ACS Hydrobar® Woodbead or other off-the-shelf coatings for items such as doors, railings, window frames and shutters.

Active Ingredients:

  • Permethrin 0.06% w/w

  • 3-iodo-2-Propynyl-N-Butyl Carbamate 0.52% w/w

  • Tebuconazol 0.14% w/w

Health & Safety Recommendations:

Take the usual labour hygiene into account.

PPE should be worn during application. See our Safety & PPE Products.

Consult label and material safety data sheet for more information.

Preparation on Bare Timbers & Masonry:

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free of oil, grease and organic growth. Silvered timber should be lightly abraded prior to application.

When using on masonry, brush the surface to remove and dust or debris and make good any cracks or defects.

Preparation on Previously Painted Timbers & Masonry:

ACS Lignotec must be applied to an adsorbent surface. Therefore, all existing paint or varnish should be removed prior to application and the surface brushed to remove dust and dirt. Exhibit care when removing old paints as many were lead-based.

Application Method:

DO NOT THIN. Stir wll or shake bottle before use. When using as either a surface biocide (to control moulds and algae) or a wood preservative (to control wood decay fungi and wood boring insects) to the prepared surface, apply 2 coats by sprayer, brush or roller. A third coat may be applied if necessary.

When treating timber, spread evenly along the grain. The number of applications required will be determined by the wood type and / or porosity of the masonry.

Subsequent Coatings:

Once dry, ACS Lignotec can be over-coated with a suitable protective topcoat such as Hydrobar® Woodbead (for Timber) or Wykamol Enviroseal or Dryseal Masonry Cream (for Masonry). Most commercially available topcoats are also suitable but we recommend testing a small area first to ensure the topcoat is compatible.

Coverage:

Apply at a rate of 200ml per m².  1 Litre of ACS Lignotec should treat approximately 5m² of timber or masonry.

Drying:

Approximately 4-6 Hours depending on conditions and substrate porosity, however it's advisable to allow 24 hours before over-coating with stains, paints or varnishes.
