COVID-19 Update From Platinum Chemicals

COVID-19 Update From Platinum Chemicals

Throughout the Global Covid-19 Pandemic, we want to reassure our customers that we are open for business and we are shipping orders while also taking strict health and safety measures to ensure business continuity.

We are maintaining the highest standard of hygiene in our office and practicing social distancing. Being a small team, we are able to create a tightly controlled environment and follow all guidance from World Heath Organisation (WHO) and the Government. We are constantly monitoring for any changes to this guidance and will take necessary action if needed whilst keeping our customers informed.

Following the latest National Lockdown on 4th of January 2021, we continue to operate in accordance with governments guidance for online businesses.

We are working closely with our suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained and are in regular contact for updates.

Customer Service

We are experiencing a significantly higher number of orders and phone calls at the moment so please bear with us if we cannot answer your call. Alternatively you can email us at

Our Phone Lines are open Weekdays Only between 08:30 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 16:30 GMT.

We are unable to receive phone calls between 13:01 - 13:59, however you may leave us a voice message and we will return your call.

Despatch and Delivery Times - PLEASE READ

We aim maintain our usual dispatch times (Same Day Despatch on Orders placed before 2:30pm), however, delivery times will be dependent on our couriers. We expect Deliveries to arrive to Customers within 1 - 3 Working Days after Despatch.

All orders will be despatched on a 'Next Day Delivery Service', however this is not a 'Guaranteed' Next Day Delivery Service.

As many parts of the UK move into Tier 4 Restricted areas, delays are likely to occur with deliveries as the volume of freight with most, if not all couriers will increase significantly. Please be understanding with this in mind and allow up to 3 Working Days for goods to arrive. Most deliveries however should arrive Next Working Day.

We will continue to keep customers informed during this time.

Receiving Your Goods

In order to protect the safety of both consignees and delivery drivers, both our main Couriers will temporarily be adopting the NO CONTACT DELIVERY PRACTICE.

Consignees will not be required to personally sign the ePOD device or hard copy document, but will be required to provide their name verbally to the delivery driver whereby the driver will include this on the delivery record.

Should a customer refuse to verbally provide their name, the consignment will not be left with them but fall under the ‘refused goods’ process.

Info on Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) - PLEASE READ

These products include Disposable Gloves, Disposable and Re-usable Masks, Disposable Coveralls, Safety Spectacles, Goggles and Hand Soaps.

At Platinum Chemicals, we want to reassure our customers that we WILL NOT in any way whatsoever aim to 'cash in' on in-demand products, such as the above mentioned PPE Products (Masks, Gloves, Coveralls etc.). It is in our best interest to keep our prices as fair as possible.

We are continuously looking at replenishing stocks quickly, however we will absolutely not, under any circumstances, entertain anyone who we believe to be profiteering from this current situation.

Stay Safe And Healthy

As already mentioned, our Team at Platinum Chemicals are following guidelines from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the National Health Service (NHS) to minimise the spread of this virus.

We will continue to wash hands and sanitise regularly, particularly before and during the handling of any paperwork, parcels etc...

We will also continue to monitor the situation closely and act quickly on the advice of the health authorities.

We appreciate your patience and support as a customer.

Best wishes, stay safe and healthy.

Danny Neill,
Operations Manager
