Soudal Plasterboard Adhesive Foam is a single-component, self-expanding polyurethane adhesive foam, uniquely engineered to offer solutions for plasterboard bonding in the building and construction sector. This ready-to-use product entirely replaces traditional mortar-based adhesives, fostering work efficiency by easing application, reducing mess, and saving time.
Soudal Plasterboard Adhesive Foam is a supremely fast curing PU adhesive, providing a powerful bond while offering optimal adjustability for users. It entirely bypasses the challenges and mess associated with mixing mortars. Simply administered from a 750ml Gun Grade Cannister or a 600ml Genius Gun® Cannister, this adhesive foam delivers an impressive bonding area, making it a highly economical choice for all scales of projects.
Its advanced formulation ensures effective bonding of all types of commonly used plasterboards to various wall structures, including brickwork, breeze block, and concrete. The foam is resistant to age, humidity, and temperatures ranging from -40°C to +90°C, enhancing its durability and resilience in various working conditions.
Time-Efficient: Cuts working time by up to 30%, thereby increasing overall productivity.
Excellent Initial Bond: Provides robust adhesion, even at low temperatures, ensuring reliable bonding across various climatic conditions.
Cost-effective: Economical in use due to precise application and generous coverage from each Cannister.
Versatile: Suitable for both horizontal and vertical applications, offering flexibility in construction projects.
Thermal Performance: With a thermal conductivity of 0,035 W/m.K, the foam enhances the performance of insulation panels when filling gaps, providing an additional boost to energy efficiency.
Durable: Remains flexible, does not become brittle over time and provides longevity to the structural integrity of the bonded materials.
Surface Adaption: Capable of levelling uneven surfaces, it ensures a smooth, uniform finish.
Fast Curing: The adhesive cures quickly allowing for the continuation of work about 1 hour after application.
Chemical Resistance: Resistant to a variety of solvents, paints, and chemicals, offering peace of mind during post-application procedures.
Long-Lasting: Resilient to ageing or rot, mould and mildew resistant, promoting a healthier, more durable structural environment.
Water Resistant: Acts as a barrier against water ingress to some degree though not entirely watertight.
Plasterboard Bonding: Ideal for bonding plasterboard to walls, ensuring a sturdy, reliable, and clean finish. With its incredible coverage and strong adhesive nature, it provides seamless bonding experience.
Dry Lining: The adhesive works excellently with dry lining, offering secure, durable lining for any building project.
Insulation Boards: Whether it's rockwool or other insulation boards, the adhesive's flexibility and strength make it suitable for bonding these surfaces.
Multi-material Bonding: Experience no restriction with materials as it bonds excellently with wood, metal, aluminium, MDF and chipboard, providing versatile and reliable usage across numerous applications.
Hard Surface Bonding: Perfect for bonding bricks, concrete, stone and ceramics, the product offers excellent adhesion and durability, meeting the demands of these hard surfaces.
Light Surface Bonding: It can easily bond lighter and more delicate surfaces such as polystyrene, laminate and cork, demonstrating its adaptability across a wide range of materials.
An Expanding Foam Gun MUST be used when applying Gun Grade Cans.
Prior to using the product, cover all adjacent areas for protection against soiling.
In windy conditions, precautions must be taken to ensure that Soudal Plasterboard Adhesive cannot contaminate components, objects or persons in the vicinity.
Good ventilation must be ensured for indoor use. Wear protective goggles and gloves.
Tightly screw the can to the thread in the gun and shake the gun about 20 times downwards so that the contents are mixed well to ensure an optimum adhesive quality and high yield.
After extended periods of non-use, the Applicator gun must be shaken again to obtain the required adhesive quality! With the adjusting screw on the gun, adjust the adhesive bead to the required diameter. (The emptier the can, the more the adjusting screw needs to be opened). The gun must be held vertical during application.
A distance of 1 to 2 cm must be maintained between the gun nozzle and insulation panel/substrate while spraying. Apply pressure to the insulation panel within about 8 minutes (20°C - 65% R.H. – this time is shorter at higher temperature / humidity and longer at lower temperature / humidity).
Do not tap or remove and reapply panels as this will damage the adhesive structure and reduce the adhesive strength substantially.
At high temperatures and low humidity in particular, curing can be accelerated by lightly spraying the adhesive bead with water.
An Expanding Foam Gun is NOT required when applying Genius Gun® Cans.
Follow the same preparation measures as above. Shake the aerosol can for at least 20 seconds.
Open the cover and fold the tube horizontally After extended periods of non-use, the can must be shaken again to obtain the required adhesive quality!
Adjust the adhesive bead to the required diameter with pushing on the genius gun harder or softer (The emptier the can, the more force should be set).
The can must be held vertical during application.A distance of 1 to 2 cm must be maintained between the nozzle and insulation panel/substrate while spraying.
Apply product as mentioned above.
Prior to application, the substrate stability must be verified. This can also take place with a sealing tape test. In this test, sealing tape is applied to the substrate and quickly pulled off again. If old paint or plaster adheres to the adhesive tape, this means that the substrate does not have the necessary stability and must be reinforced or removed.
With chalking and highly absorbent substrates, the substrate adhesion can be improved with a deep solvent primer.
Remove protruding concrete burr or excess plaster. Soudal Plasterboard Adhesive levels uneven surfaces up to 30mm.
Three vertical adhesive beads are sufficient for the installation of plasterboard wider than 50cm. For panel widths below 50cm, a minimum of two adhesive beads must be applied.
General Note: Do not load / subject the bond to traffic within the curing time of about 2 hours.
All open joints within the insulation can be filled out with Soudal Plasterboard Adhesive. Trim protruding, fully cured adhesive with a sharp knife. Soudal Plasterboard Adhesive can be painted or plastered after curing.
Uncured Foam can be cleaned with Soudafoam Gun & Foam Cleaner or SWIPEX Cleaning Wipes prior to curing.
Cured foam can only be removed mechanically or with Soudal Cured PU Foam Remover.
