Substrate Suitability:

Soudafix 300-SF is suitable for use on all usual porous building substrates. It exhibits poor adhesion on smooth, non-porous materials. No particular treatment of the substrate is needed.

However, when working with hollow materials, the use of sleeves is necessary to ensure proper anchoring.

Surface Preparation:

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or any contaminants that may hinder adhesion. Follow these steps for surface preparation:

  1. Drill Hole: Drill the hole to the recommended depth for the anchoring rod or bolt size you are using.

  2. Clean Drill Hole: Use a brush and air pump to thoroughly clean the drill hole. This step is crucial to remove all debris and dust.

  3. Prepare Cartridge: For 280ml cartridges, use a standard caulking gun. For 410ml cartridges, use the Single Cartridge Resin Gun. Screw the static mixer onto the cartridge.

  4. Dispense Initial Resin: Dispense the first 10 cm of the product to waste on a piece of cardboard until an even colour (dark grey) is achieved, ensuring the product is well mixed.

    Application Method:

    1. Solid Stone Application: Fill the drill hole from the bottom up with resin. This ensures there are no air pockets and the resin fully coats the interior of the hole.

    2. Hollow Brick Application: Insert a sleeve into the hole and fill it from the bottom up with resin. The resin should be pressed through the tiny holes of the sleeve, ensuring proper fill and coverage.

    3. Insert Anchoring Rod: Insert the anchoring rod with a twisting left-right motion. This helps to evenly distribute the resin and ensures the rod is fully embedded.

    4. Inspect and Cure: Inspect the drill hole for adequate filling. Ensure the resin is evenly distributed without air pockets. Observe the hardening time specified for the product. Do not move the anchoring rod during curing. Allow the resin to fully cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

    Finishing:

Once the resin has cured, any excess product protruding from the substrate surface should be left to harden completely. Remove the hardened excess mechanically using a hammer and chisel to ensure a clean and professional finish.

    Cleaning:

    • Before Cure: Any excess resin should be wiped off immediately with a cloth. Clean the area with white spirit or acetone to remove any residues effectively.

    • After Cure: Once the resin has fully cured, it is advisable to remove any unwanted spills or excess mechanically. Use tools such as a chisel or scraper for this purpose.

    Other Information:

Ensure the substrate temperature is above +5°C to facilitate proper application and curing.

Store the cartridges in cool, dry conditions at a temperature between +5°C and +25°C. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.

After the resin has fully cured and the area is cleaned, proceed with the installation of the component. Apply the correct torque to any fixtures being installed to ensure a secure and safe installation.
