At Platinum Chemicals, we offer our customers a vast range of Silicone Sealants which are suitable for use on Sanitary Applications. It is important that any Silicone Sealant used in areas of high humidity (i.e Kitchens and Bathrooms) contains a Fungicide, thus preventing unsightly Black Mould Growth.
Within our range, we are able to offer customers a choice of Acetoxy Silicones or Neutral Silicones, whether its a cost-effective choice or one of Superior Quality.
All Sanitary Silicone Sealants listed below are Manufactured to EN 15651-3 Standards (Joint Sealants for Sanitary Applications).
Types S1, S2 and S3: These differ according to the anti-fungal property of the sealant. The best resistance class is S1, the worst being S3.
Type X: The suffix 'X' refers to a low shrinkage of the sealant. Without the designation 'X', the shrinkage is higher. For example, a sealant which contains an 'XS1' Fungicide basically means it has the strongest possible fungicide with very low shrinkage (i.e Stay Fresh and Silirub 2/S).
