Silirub® LMN - High Quality LMN Silicone

Silirub® LMN - High Quality LMN Silicone

Soudal | Silicone Sealant

Silirub® LMN is a High Quality Low Modulus Neutral Cure Silicone Sealant.

Silirub® LMN is virtually odourless, and has a very fast skinning time and final cure with very low dirt pick-up. Solvent-free silicone with no shrinkage during curing. Thick bodied, excellent break off and tooling.

Silirub® LMN has primerless adhesion on all common construction materials including glass, plastics, masonry substrates, metals and wood. It has a high movement capability and is resistant to UV, rain, snow, ozone and many chemicals.

Silirub® LMN has been independently tested to ISO 11600 F&G 25 LM.

Benefits
  • Very easy to apply

  • Colourfast and UV resistant

  • Permanent elastic after curing

  • Very good adhesion on many materials

  • Low Modulus

  • Neutral Cure

  • Corrosion Free

Application

Typical Applications:

  • Glazing, construction and industrial sealing applications.

  • Perimeter sealing of wood, PVCu and aluminium window and frames.

  • Weathersealing of aluminium glazing systems, curtain walling and facade panels.

  • Sealing of roofline and drainage systems.

  • Can be used in direct contact with most types of glass, (NOT suitable for self-cleaning types).

  • Bedding of double glazed sealed units in wet glazing applications.

  • Sealing of expansion and movement joints in construction.

  • Roofing seals including lead, roofing slates and fibre-cement.

  • Industrial sealing applications; coated metals, anodized aluminium, stainless steel.

  • HVAC Ducting, pipework and drainage joints.

  • General maintenance of sealing cars, caravans, mobile homes and boats.

Compatibility with Glass:

Silirub® LMN is not suitable for contact with secondary sealant of insulating glass units.

Silirub® LMN is not suitable for applications in direct contact with PVB films of laminated glass, for this we recommend to use Silirub® 2.

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dust and grease.

Porous surfaces in water loaded applications should be primed with Soudal Primer 150. No primer needed for non-porous substrates.

There is no adhesion on PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®) and bituminous substrates. We recommend a preliminary compatibility test.

Application Method:

  • Application Method: With manual or pneumatic caulking gun.

  • Cleaning: Clean with a Surface Cleaner immediately after use.

  • Finishing: With a soapy solution or Soudal Finishing Solution before skinning.

  • Repair: With the same material

Joint Dimensions:

  • Minimum Width for Joints: 5 mm

  • Maximum Width for Joints: 30 mm

  • Minimum Depth for Joints: 5 mm

  • Recommendation Sealing Jobs: Joint Width = 2 x Joint Depth.

Remarks:

  • Do not use on natural stones like marble, granite etc... as it may cause staining.

  • Direct contact with the secondary sealing of insulating glass units (insulation) and the PVB-film of safety glass must be avoided.

  • A total absence of UV can cause a colour change of the sealant.

  • In an acid environment or in a dark room, white silicone can slightly turn yellow. However, under the influence of sunlight it will turn back to its initial colour.

  • We strongly recommend not to apply the product in full sunlight as it will dry very fast.

  • When finished with a finishing solution or soapy solution, make sure that the surfaces are not touched by this solution. This will cause the sealant not to adhere to that surface. Therefore we recommend to only dip the finishing tool in this solution.

  • Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible.
