Active Ingredients:

Permethrin 62.5g/L

Permethrin is a synthetic neurotoxin that belongs to the pyrethroid family, used in pest control. In the case of woodworm treatment, such as Lignum I62.5, it works by disrupting the nervous system of the larvae of wood-boring beetles when they ingest treated wood. The affected larvae eventually die, halting the infestation cycle. This formulation of Permethrin (62.5g/L) is designed to be potent against woodworms yet safe for application on timber, when used as directed.

The active ingredient in the formulation is sourced from and supplied by manufacturers who have supported the compound through the Biocidal Products Directive [98/8 EC] or more recently the Biocidal Products Regulations [528/2012] and in compliance with Article 95 of the Biocidal Products Regulation.

Lignum Pro I62.5 Insecticide is being supported under the European Biocidal Products Regulation [528/2012]. Efficacy of this product has been proven to industry established and European standards.

Health & Safety Recommendations:

Take the usual labour hygiene into account.

PPE should be worn during application. See our Safety & PPE Products.

Consult label and material safety data sheet for more information.

Surface Preparation:

Before applying Lignum Pro I62.5 Woodworm Treatment, prepare the wood surface. Ensure it is clean, dry, and free from wood dust, dirt, and other surface contaminants that could inhibit the absorption of the treatment.

This may involve brushing or vacuuming the wood surface and, in the case of existing finishes or varnishes, stripping them down so that the treatment can penetrate the wood fibres effectively.

Application Method:

The product should be applied in a one coat application using either a brush or a low-pressure spray, ensuring a thorough and even coverage across the timber.

Coverage:

For preventive treatment, apply at a rate of 200ml per square meter, which allows 1 litre of the diluted product to cover approximately 5m².

For curative treatment, use at a rate of 300ml per square meter, so 1 litre of diluted solution covers about 3.3m².

Based on these rates, a 1 litre concentrate can treat between 82.5m² and 125m² of timber once diluted, depending on the application.

Drying:

Lignum Pro I62.5 typically becomes touch dry within 1 hour under favourable conditions (this can vary based on wood type and environmental factors). Ensure that the space is well-ventilated and maintain a safe environment: keep unprotected persons and animals away from treated surfaces for at least 48 hours or until completely dry.

Finish:

The product leaves no visible finish and will not alter the appearance of your wood. It’s similar to applying water or solvent in effect. However, to be confident in the results, it is recommended that you apply it on a small, inconspicuous area to test and ensure the final finish meets expectations.

Stability:

Lignum Pro I62.5 is stable in original packaging for 2 years when stored under ambient conditions. After 2 years product should be re-tested every 6 months to ensure active ingredient levels are within specification.
