Substrate Suitability:

Soudal Fix All High Tack is compatible with a wide range of building substrates, including but not limited to concrete, brick, wood, metal, plasterboard, and many others.

However, please note that when bonding plastics such as PMMA (e.g., Plexi® glass), polycarbonate (e.g., Makrolon® or Lexan®), stress cracking and crazing may occur in these substrates, especially in stress-loaded applications. Therefore, using Fix All High Tack is not recommended in such cases.

Additionally, this product does not adhere to PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®), bituminous substrates, as well as copper or copper-containing materials like bronze and brass.

Surface Preparation:

Achieving optimal adhesion requires proper surface preparation. For porous surfaces in water-loaded applications, we recommend applying Soudal Primer 150 as a primer.

Smooth surfaces should be thoroughly degreased before bonding. To ensure satisfaction, it is essential to perform a preliminary adhesion test on each surface to determine compatibility and the desired bond strength.

Application Method:

For Application as an Adhesive:

  • Prepare the surfaces to be bonded by following the surface preparation instructions mentioned above.

  • Apply the adhesive evenly onto one of the surfaces using a suitable applicator.

  • Press the surfaces firmly together immediately after applying the adhesive, ensuring full contact.

  • Secure the bonded materials if required until the adhesive sets.

  • Allow the adhesive to cure as per manufacturer's instructions before subjecting it to any stress or moisture.

For Application as a Sealant:

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust and grease.

  • Cut the nozzle at a 45-degree angle and at the desired width, depending on the application.

  • Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun and apply continuous pressure on the trigger to dispense the sealant.

  • Apply the sealant in a steady, even motion, ensuring full coverage of the intended area.

  • Tool the sealant immediately after application using a suitable tool to achieve a smooth finish.

  • Allow the sealant to cure as per manufacturer's instructions before subjecting it to any stress or moisture.

Finishing:

When used as a sealant, Fix All High Tack can be smoothly finished using the Soudaglatt Smoothing Tool or a similar tool of your choice. Simply run the tool smoothly along the sealant line to create an even finish.

If a smoothing tool is not available, a wetted finger can be used to achieve a similar effect. Perform the finishing process before the sealant begins to skin, ensuring a neat and tidy appearance.

Joint Dimensions:

  • Minimum Width for Bonding: 2 mm

  • Minimum Width for Joints: 5 mm

  • Maximum Width for Bonding: 10 mm

  • Maximum Width for Joints: 30 mm

  • Minimum Depth for Joints: 5 mm

  • Recommendation Sealing Jobs: Joint Width = 2 x Joint Depth

Cleaning:

For easy clean-up after application, use Soudal Swipex Cleaning Wipes to remove uncured residue.

In case the sealant has already cured, mechanical removal with the assistance of Soudal Sealant Remover Spray is required. Please follow the instructions provided with the Soudal Sealant Remover Spray for effective results.

Remarks:

  • Fix-All High Tack may be overpainted with water based paints, however due to the large number of paints and varnishes available we strongly suggest a compatibility test before application.

  • The drying time of alkyd resin based paints may increase.

  • Fix-All High Tack can be applied to a wide variety of substrates. Due to the fact that specific substrates such as plastics, like polycarbonate, etc, may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, we recommend preliminary compatibility test.

  • While producing plastics very often releasing agents, processing aids and other protective agents (like protection foil) are used. These should be removed prior to bonding. For optimum adhesion the use of Soudal Surface Activator is recommended.

  • Fix-All High Tack can NOT be used as a glazing sealant.

  • Not suitable for bonding aquariums.

  • Fix-All High Tack can be used for bonding of natural stone, but it cannot be used as a joint sealant on this type of surface. Fix-All High Tack can therefore only be used on the bottom of natural stone tiles.

  • When applying, make sure not to spill any sealant on the surface of materials.

  • The sanitary formula should not replace regular cleaning of the joint. Excessive contamination, deposits or soap remainings will stimulate the development of fungi.
