Wykamol Anti Lime Sealer

Wykamol Anti Lime Sealer is applied to concrete surfaces prior to the installation of Cavity Drain Membrane Systems to prevent the ‘leaching’ of free lime from the concrete slabs.

‘Leaching’ of free lime, which then solidifies, causes blockages within a cavity drain membrane system. This prevents the free movement of water behind the membrane, ultimately stopping the water from reaching a gravity drain or a sump and pump system.

Blockages caused by free lime will increase the regularity of maintenance of a cavity drain membrane system and its pumps, or in some cases, cause the system to fail.

Typical Applications:

  • Concrete slabs including: floors, walls, rafts, kickers and recesses.

  • Underpinned properties on either side of joints.

  • Dry-packed areas after an application of a cement based tanking products (Such as the HydraDry Tanking Slurry System).

Product Benefits:

  • Helps prevent blockages in Cavity Drain Membrane Systems caused by Free Lime Leaching.

  • Ideal for use on Old and New Concrete alike.

  • Concrete Remains Breathable as Product does not Block Pores.

  • Highly Concentrated for Easy Transportation and to Reduce Plastic Packaging.

  • Easy to Use.

  • Non Hazardous.

  • Long Lasting.

Surface Preparation:

Note: New concrete must be at least 7 days old before Anti Lime Sealer is applied.

  1. If there is any exposed steel present, apply two coats of suitable corrosion inhibitor to the exposed steel by brush.

  2. Remove, by suitable means, all loose material and surface laitencies, i.e. dust, oil, grease, corrosion and organic growth, preferably by using wet grit, water blasting techniques or equivalent methods.

  3. Ensure there is no water pooling prior to application. Wykamol Anti Lime Sealer can be applied to damp surfaces but not wet surfaces.

Mixing:

The product is diluted to a maximum of 9 parts water to 1 part product to provide a ready to use solution.

Into a clean container, add 16 litres of clean water.

Empty the contents of the Anti Lime Sealer into the container or sprayer. Then fill the empty Anti Lime Sealer bottle with water and empty this into the container.

You should now have 20 Litres of Ready to Use Solution which can be poured into a suitable sprayer.

Application Method:

Apply a single coat using a coarse sprayer. Move methodically, from one end to the other until complete and even coverage is achieved.

Curing:

The substrate should be left for a minimum of 3 hours to allow the Anti Lime Sealer to absorb. Once substrate is touch dry it may be walked on or covered.

Coverage:

Coverage will mainly depend on the porosity of the surface. 20 litres will cover a maximum of 200m²
