Soudal | Fire Rated Expanding Foam

Soudafoam FR is a Fire Rated, rapid curing, one component polyurethane expanding foam filler which has a fire rating of up to 240 minutes - BS476(20) 4 Hour Fire Rating Warrington depending on configuration.

Soudafoam FR Fire rated expanding foam has excellent thermal and acoustic properties, it expands up to 35-40 times its initial volume and has excellent primerless adhesion on most construction materials.

Soudafoam FR Fire Rated Expanding Foam is Pink in colour, supplied in a 750ml Cannister.

Application

Typical Applications:

  • Fire Retardant installation of window and door frames.

  • Fire and smoke retardant sealing of connections between partition walls, ceilings and floors.

  • Filling of cavities.

  • Fire Retardant sealing of all openings in roof constructions.

  • Fire Retardant sealing of cable- and pipe penetrations.

  • Fire Retardant creation of a sound-proof screen.

  • Fire Retardant bonding of insulation materials.

  • Fire Retardant application of sound-deadening layers.

  • Improving thermal insulation in cold store areas.

Preparation:

Shake the aerosol can for at least 20 seconds. Attach the can onto the Applicator Gun. Surface should be free from grease and dust.

Moisten surfaces with a water sprayer prior to application.

For non-conventional substrates a preliminary adhesion test is recommended.

Application Method:

Fill holes and cavities approximately ¾ full as the foam will expand.

Repeat shaking regularly during application.

If you have to work in layers repeat moistening after each layer. Fresh foam can be removed using Soudal Gun & Foam Cleaner or acetone.

Cured foam can only be removed mechanically or with Cured PU Foam Remover. Never burn away cured foam.

Soudal Fire Silicone B1 FR is a FIRE RATED, Neutral Cure Silicone Sealant.

Soudal Fire Silicone B1 FR is Solvent Free and Virtually Odourless with Primerless adhesion on all common construction materials (i.e glass, plastics, masonry substrates, metals and wood). High movement capability. Resistant to UV, rain, ozone and many chemicals.

Soudal Fire Silicone B1 FR Conforms to all international standards including CE Marking.

Soudal Fire Silicone B1 FR Conforms to the DIN4102 B1 standard for fire retardancy and has a fire rating of up to 4 hours in certain joint configurations (EN 1366 Part 4 NN713.020 – BS 476/20).

  • For use in External and Internal Passive Fire Systems as an Elastic Joint Sealant.

  • Installation of Fire Retardant Window and Door Frames.

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dust and grease.

Porous substrates should be primed with Soudal Primer 150. Soudal Surface Activator will improve adhesion on smooth surfaces.

We recommend a preliminary compatibility test.

Application Method:

  • Application Method: With a manual or pneumatic caulking gun. Finish with spatula or filling knife.

  • Cleaning: Clean uncured product with a white spirit immediately after use.

  • Finishing: With a soapy solution or Soudal Finishing Solution before skinning.

  • Repair: With the same material

Joint Dimensions:

  • Minimum Width for Joints: 5mm

  • Maximum Width for Joints: 30mm

  • Recommendation Sealing Jobs: Joint Width = 2 x Joint Depth.

Soudal Firecryl FR is a Fire Rated Intumescent Acrylic Sealant and Filler which is totally free of solvents, silicones and isocyanates.

Soudal Firecryl FR is colourfast and waterproof after curing, it can also be painted over once cured. Primerless adhesion on most surface.

Soudal Firecryl FR resist the passage of fire and smoke and is fire resistant up to 4 hours with PE backer rod (EN 1366 Part 4-NBN713.020- BS 476/20).

Soudal Firecryl FR is intumescent in contact with fire, and swells when exposed to temperatures in excess of 120°C.

Applications

Typical Applications:

  • Interior Fire Resistant Applications. For exterior applications see Fire Silicone B1 FR.

  • Fire Resistant sealing compound for cracks in concrete and plaster

  • Fire Resistant connection joints in the building industry

  • Fire Resistant joints with movements up to 10%.

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dust and grease.

For use on most porous surfaces.

Prepare very porous surfaces such as plasterboard, cellular concrete etc. with a suitable primer or with diluted Firecryl FR (1 part Firecryl FR and 2 parts water).

Not suitable for use on natural stone, bitumen, glass and metal.

We recommend a preliminary adhesion test on every surface.

Application Method:

  • Application Method: With a manual or pneumatic caulking gun. Finish with spatula or filling knife.

  • Cleaning: Clean uncured product with a water immediately after use.

  • Finishing: With a soapy solution or Soudal Finishing Solution before skinning.

  • Repair: With the same material

Joint Dimensions:

  • Minimum Width for Joints: 5 mm

  • Maximum Width for Joints: 20 mm

  • Minimum Depth for Joints: 5 mm

  • Recommendation Sealing Jobs: Joint Width = Joint Depth. Use PE backer rods in case of large joint dimensions to avoid three-sided adhesion.

Remarks:

  • Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible.

  • Do not apply when rain or frost is imminent

  • Firecryl FR can be painted over with most paints.

  • The paint should be sufficiently elastic to be applied on a plasto-elastic sealant. A preliminary test is recommended.

Soudal Silirub ® HT-A° is a High Temperature Resistant Acetoxy Silicone Sealant.

Soudal Silirub ® HT-A° can withstand high temperatures up to 285°C, it's highly flexible and is weatherproof.

Soudal Silirub ® HT-A° has primerless adhesion on many common construction materials including glass, ceramic, porcelain, metals and wood.

Soudal Silirub ® HT-A° is resistant to UV, rain, snow, ozone and many chemicals and has high movement capability.

Application

Areas for Use:

  • For the sealing of elastic joints which require a high temperature resistance (i.e gaskets, hot water installations, pipework, ovens, furnaces and chimney flues).

  • Suitable for external and internal applications.

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dust and grease.

Porous surfaces in water loaded applications should be primed with Soudal Primer 150. No primer needed for non-porous substrates.

Not suitable for use on concrete or PVC.

There is no adhesion on PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®) and bituminous substrates. We recommend a preliminary compatibility test.

Application Method:

  • Application Method: With a manual or pneumatic caulking gun.

  • Cleaning: Clean with a Surface Cleaner immediately after use.

  • Finishing: With a soapy solution or Soudal Finishing Solution before skinning.

  • Repair: With the same material

Joint Dimensions:

  • Maximum Width for Joints: 30 mm

  • Minimum Depth for Joints: 5 mm

  • Recommendation Sealing Jobs: Joint Width = 2 x Joint Depth.

Remarks:

  • Do not use on natural stones like marble, granite etc. as it may cause staining.

  • Direct contact with the secondary sealing of insulating glass units (insulation) and the PVB-film of safety glass must be avoided.

  • When finished with a finishing solution or soapy solution, make sure that the surfaces are not touched by this solution. This will cause the sealant not to adhere to that surface. Therefore we recommend to only dip the finishing tool in this solution.

  • We strongly recommend not to apply the product in full sunlight as it will dry very fast.

  • Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible

Soudal Firecement HT° is a High Temperature Resistant Fire Cement Sealant which cures to form a hard setting seal and withstands temperatures of up to 1500°C.

Slight moistening of the surface will increase adhesive strength

  • Cleaning: Clean uncured product with a water immediately after use.

  • Repair: With the same material

Remarks:

  • A slight heating up of the installation during 12 hours after application of Firecement HT° will prevent the forming of bubbles and improve the sealant structure.
