Properties:

  • Product Basis: Polyurethane Foam Filler

  • Box Yield FEICA TM1003 (750ml Cannister): 44 Litres (Gun Grade); 34 Litres (Hand Held)

  • Joint Yield FEICA TM1002 (750ml Cannister): 35 Metres (Gun Grade); 18 Metres (Hand Held)

  • Acoustic Rating ISO 717-1: 62 dB

  • Application Temperatures: +5°C to +40°C

Standards:

  • Tested according to standard EN 1366-4 for Fire Resistant Jointing.

  • Classification report according to EN 13501-2 by Warrington Exova (Report No. 19660B) and in combination with Fire Resistant Sealants (19660C).

Substrate Suitability:

Soudafoam FR HY Expanding Foam is highly versatile and suitable for use on a broad range of construction materials, with exceptional primerless adhesion capabilities.

Surface Preparation:

Before application, ensure that your working surface is ready and optimised for the best results. Shake the aerosol can vigorously for a minimum of 20 seconds. If using Gun Grade cannisters, attach the can to the Applicator Gun. For 'Hand Held' application, attach the adapter on the valve. The product should now be ready for application.

Remember to clean the surface entirely of any grease or dust, as these substances can hamper the product's performance.

It's advisable to moisten surfaces with a water sprayer before application to promote maximum adhesion. For unconventional substrates, we strongly recommend doing a preliminary adhesion test before full application to verify the results.

Application Method:

With your surface set and prepared, it's time to apply the product. Fill the intended holes and cavities to about ¾ full, as the foam will expand to fill the remaining spaces.

Ensure you keep shaking the can intermittently during application to keep the components well-mixed for optimal performance. If you're applying in layers, make sure to moisten the surface again after each layer.

Important: Soudafoam FR HY may not extrude from the can at the same pressure as standard PU Expanding Foams, this is due to the make up of the product, being much more 'viscous' in nature due to the added Fire Retardant additives. This however has no bearing on the overall expansion rate of the product when curing. Vigorous shaking of the can for at least 60 seconds prior to use may help.

Cleaning:

When it comes to cleaning, use Soudal Gun & Foam Cleaner to eliminate freshly applied foam. Once the foam has cured, it can only be removed either mechanically or using Soudal Cured PU Foam Remover. It's imperative never to try burning away cured foam.
