Product Description
The innovative microemulsion formulation in Platinum Masonry Biocide contains the fungicide 3-Iodo-2-butyl carbamate (IPBC). This fungicide is extremely effective in the eradication and control of Serpula lacrymans (dry rot) fungus from masonry and soil.
Platinum Masonry Biocide concentrate is an insecticidal and fungicidal treatment based on water internal micro-emulsion technology in which all organic solvent components are removed from the formulation.
Platinum Building Chemicals formulations are all cleared under the Governments Pesticide Safety Precaution scheme and under the Control of Pesticide Regulations 1986, for use as directed.
Advantages
- Dilutes to make 25 litres of Ready-to-use Product
- Extremely stable with no phase separation
- Solvent free technology with no volatility issues
- Non-hazardous fully biodegradable surfactants
- Excellent penetration and fast drying
- Virtually no odour
- Non-flammable
Application
Dilute 1 litre Platinum Masonry Biocide with 24 litres of water. Sterilise all exposed wall areas with two coats of diluted fluid to the joints, followed by an overall surface application, using brush or coarse spray (Do not use atomiser sprays).
Oversites should be thoroughly sprayed until saturated with fluid. However, where severe attacks of dry rot in masonry have occurred we recommend the following traditional irrigation treatment. The wall should be drilled deeply (two-thirds depth) at 23 cm (9") staggered centres at a downward angle to ensure full penetration of the fluid.
N.B. Irrigation should only be undertaken when there is demonstrable need for deep penetration of fluid.
Coverage
1 litre of diluted product treats 2-5m² using a course spray.
Using Irrigation treat at 2.5 litre per m² for 230mm (9") brickwork or 10 litre per m³.
Formulation
3-Iodo-2-Propynyl-n-Butyl-Carbamate (IPBC) 5.0% (w/w).
