Product Description
Contractors Grade Aluminium Paint is a bright aluminium, traditional, solar reflective coating suitable for application to bituminous roofing substrates..
Product Uses
For the protection against sun and weathering of roofs and walls, particularly where bituminous, exposed steel and corrugated iron surfaces are encountered.
Application
Stir very thoroughly before use. Do not thin. Apply immediately and continue stirring periodically during use. Apply by brush or mohair roller When brushing, use soft bristle brushes applying the lightest of pressure.
Apply by brush or airless spray. Freshly applied bitumen coatings should be allowed to weather for at least 3-5 days before the application of Contractors Grade Aluminium Paint. For use on Roofing Felt we recommend you prime the surface prior to applying the first coat of Contractors Grade Aluminium Paint.
STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE
Note: The appearance of a silver film on the surface of the paint after a short period of stirring does not signify that the paint is thoroughly uniform. It is advisable to stir for several minutes to ensure complete dispersion. Preference should be given to mechanical stirring.
Two coats should be applied, the first being allowed to dry before application of the second. To avoid bronzing it is important that Aluminium Paint is not applied too thickly.
Do not brush excessively as this can cause softening of the substrate. The presence of moisture on the surface of rain falling before the Contractors Grade Aluminium Paint has dried can also cause bronzing. Do not use in temperatures less than +5°C.
Coverage
Approximately 5 - 10m² per litre per coat, depending upon the surface.
